If you don't have much time in Tokyo, I'd hit Disk Union, Shibuya Shinjuku and Shimokitazwa, HMV Shibuya, and Face Records—Coco Island Music Mart for reggae. There are tons of other spots, but I haven't been back since 2018 so not sure what's still…

25 years is no joke. This site taught me so much about digging and introduced me to many friends and peers that I might not have met otherwise. I even kinda miss being hazed by Fauz Rillz back in the day. Thanks for the memories Raj.

The funniest thing about that thread is the guy claiming Dante must not produce music!

RIP Rudolph Isely https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/oct/12/rudolph-isley-founding-member-of-the-isleys-brothers-dies-at-84 Used to bump the J.Period mix constantly back when it came out. It's a nice little tribute to the influence the brother…

Most of McCallum's obituaries I have read, completely gloss over his contribution to music.

I was confused and thought Phil Most had moved to Antwerp for a second there.

Jazz has been taking some heavy hits lately with Ramsey and Lewis and now Pharoh Sanders.

Just check discogs. The comments on a release page about reissues always comment on the quality of the pressings, defects ect. I got burned on a fela reissue which was missing the whole right channel. if i had just read the comments!

I just been watching Jazzy Jeff on Youtube. Wed lunch time and Friday house party has been keeping me sane and dancing around the lounge room. On a side note a bunch of EDM djs pop up on my feed randomly. Watching them play is so boring. One mix eve…

I don't think Quest is sell out. He is however very nerdy bordering on cringe worthy. That havin been said he has been involved in some amazing musical moments as a drummer. Him as a DJ is not my thing. He came to Sydney and we all went expecting th…

@4YearGraduate What is your discogs handle?

Seems to be over a slightly negative review RA gave his last album

RhythmGJ said: Did you look for an updated driver, by any chance? GJ Yes, I did thanks. Apparently the firewire series from M-Aduio has long been unsupported by them, much to the frustration of many users. There is an updated driver for …

So being quarantined at home had me finally drag out my old audio interface to record so mixes. Turns out my M-Audio box doesn't work with my latest OSX. What can people recommend for ripping DJ mixes?

I have 1-3 on MP3 somewhere on an HD. Plus the mixes he did for B+s label. Just cop the CD, all his stuff is

I normally really like post-genre music. Post-rock, post-hardcore ect it normally delivers some really innovative and groundbreaking music and bands. If this is post hip hop though, it's left me cold.

Yes, also interested in hearing what Key Systems puts out? Any links to the label?

It would have to be 1973 or 72.

He had a bunch of sexual harassment claims I believe.

I didn't mind some of the Pusha T album and the Teyana Taylor joint. Nas was boring. It all just seems so forgettable. My guess is if he even makes it into the teen numbers then no one will really care anymore.

What's up with your links homie? Taking me to some russian hacker site!

Its totally cringe-inducing. I had one of his eps from the 2000s. It was all prince paul produced hence why i picked it up. I like some of the beats, but not a fan of his voice or lyrics. Good to see he is still corny as fusk in 2018.

Totally agree. Normally I'm all over Kon's edits but this one just sounds jarring

Rock is an art, you can't own no riffs ;)

Always like Edan's production. Has that great gritty funk sound to it. I could take or leave Sandman though
