Yeah, it's real easy to say you walk it like you talk it when your whole steez is wimpsauce.

But go right ahead and hide in your closet and pray to the rainbowed unicorn in the sky that the fat stupid man you normally hate and his fellow donut-scarfers don't fuck it up.

*I think they can. I think they can.*

    Sheesh.

The whole city should not be shut down. That doesn't mean everyone immediately goes out on a manhunt...unless it does actually get to that point of necessity and then one is organized with citizens deputized and such.

Just get back to work, and if you've got one, keep a firearm handy...so if you stumble upon a clear shot to the back of the suspect's head, TAKE IT ALREADY!

Said person would become the hero of the century.

Unless of course it was that Moroccan runner incorrectly identified as the bomber before the police made a retraction. In that case, said person would just be a murderer.

Or if after the retraction they shot some other guy who looked Chechen. Or like he might be Chechen.

Or just started shooting at all green Mazdas, or whatever car the suspect is supposed to be driving, just in case. LAPD style.

I don't know what's wrong with now-subservient Boston. I started this whole branch of discussion today asking just that. I know Boston can do better. Of course, y'all just want Boston to do the exact same thing it's doing now which is playing non-strategic possum.

Back on track here... for those who want actual news, this is a condensed recap via Reddit.

Here's my attempt at an overview of what's happened so far. This is put together from what I saw before I went to sleep last night, and what I've read from all of these threads. I will likely have errors, my goal is to be less erroneous than CNN.

The night started when an MIT campus officer was shot and killed in his car. The police responded and a chase ensued. In the chaos, one man (the blonde man lying on the street) was detained but later cleared. There were reports that a 7/11 was robbed during the night as well, but it was not the Boston Bombers.

There was a shootout between suspects and police in the early morning. I'm unsure where the shootout was, but I've heard from a couple places that it was near suspects' house. During this shootout, Boston suspect 1 (Black Hat) was shot by police. He died on scene. His brother, Boston suspect 2 (White Hat), fled and left him behind.

After being shot, Black Hat may have activated an explosive suicide vest (note: I have heard too much conflicting information on this, unsure of truth, will update once I get good source).

There have been multiple reports of possible suspects that have turned out to be uninvolved, and I'm currently trying to parse out the correct information about the number of suspects. They are currently seeking White Hat, and have cleared out multiple buildings in the process. There was a report of a hostage situation, but new evidence suggests it was unrelated.

A different suspect has been apprehended; this suspect reportedly had on a suicide vest and was holding an activation switch. The bomb squad was called in to remove vest, and suspect is in custody (any confirmation on suspect's condition?).

White Hat suspect may still be on the loose, though a report said that the police are questioning someone who may have been White Hat.

White and Black Hat suspects were born in Chechnya, lived there briefly, lived in Kyrgyzstan for a while, but primarily grew up in the US. They had plans to go to Russia with their aunt in the next few days.

So y'all aren't familiar with police forces across America deliberately targeting dumber dudes to put on their squads the past 10-15 years or so? They'd rather an idiot who's only skill is never questioning orders, than a smart cop willing to react on the fly. I don't trust these dudes as far as I could throw them. And neither should you.

And yes, Bon Vivant, it's another sign that your socialist fantasy of a society is literally falling apart. That was my other main point today...that Boston shutting down like this is a sign of plenty more of this bullshit to come. It's like they are begging for more attacks. No leadership at the helm AT ALL.

It's bizarre that you think this is a discussion about winning or losing, or for the purpose of winning or losing. Who's trying to win? Not me. I don't think anyone is. It's just a discussion with different points of view about a very current event. People have their own way of discussing things. I have mine, Harv has his, and you, well, you. They aren't always the same.

    Sorry to disappoint.

But I kinda wish this guy just turns himself in and faces justice, but also maybe lets the world why they did this.

I fail to see how a sizable show of force with the purpose being to apprehend the suspect involved in murder and terror is begging for more attacks.

I think it's exactly the opposite. It's saying, you do this here, we will find you and get you.

Assuming the fairy tale was true, how long did it take to "get" Bin Laden?

And that shit last night was BOTCHED at best. They let a 19 year old with no known military training get away as they took casualties?

So not only are our enemies looking on like dang, what a bunch of bumbling police over there. But also like I've already mentioned, it sure doesn't take much to have an entire American city cowering behind closed doors.

Guaranteed we're being laughed at right now. And primed for further and likely more damaging attacks.

I sure don't want that to be the case. But whoever is supposedly calling the shots for us is straight begging for that to happen.

Okay, I will now shut up for a while. Please save your applause.

Sure.....as long as the personal insults are left out....I'm obviously not the only one who sees your personal attacks as deplorable...and I agree with virtually nothing Harvey has posted here.....I just find your personal attacks more offensive than his ideals..

IMO The Boston PD and local government had no choice but to do what they have done as far as keeping folks off the streets and try to insure their safety.......mainly because if they didn't, and people were killed or injured during their pursuit of this murderer, that they would have received a PR black eye and potential multi-million dollar lawsuits. This is a reflection on our litigious society moreso than a wussified one.

The fact that they were able to identify and find these dudes in such a short period of time tells me there was some good police work done.

Sorry but one more for the road...

To hell with such a low standard. Good police work would have PREVENTED the bombing in the first place, especially considering that the feds were already on the scene conducting some sort of "drill", obviously expecting something to go down.

Okay, that's it. I'm really out of here now.
