Yeah, I mean I know what you're saying as far as his age. But true point guards are
There is no more valuable player in basketball than an effective point guard who can average 12 points and 7 assists per game. There are better players, there are players who make a bigger impact, but when you want a player that can bring your team together, you want that point guard who can score and distribute the ball.
Billups is that point guard. Iverson is not.
Oh yeah, and Trailblazer three game winning streak begins tonight.
He wasnt enuff to keep Detriot elite but good enuff to elevate a team that lacked his exp.
Would you have traded a different Detroit player?? I think some of those dudes are more easily duplicated.
I dont think the market was there/returns for hamilton and wallace. Iverson was a crapshoot and it didnt work. They lose but they gain some cap space. Stuckey is decent and could blossom.
If they kept Billups, Stuckey wouldnt emerge and they would still be mediocre like last year.
Dumars had to do something.
Plus Micheal Curry isnt that dude. He's just a temp waitinf for the next "big name " coach to try his hand in Detriot.
I agree, Stuckey is good, but I don't think it's fair for people to burden him with unrealistic expectations. Mawfuckas on tv are talking about "He's surely gonna be their franchise player for years to come." The lil midget Bynum is a warrior. He plays good defense for his size too.
I mean Boobie Gibson had a good playoff run and people were gushing over him. He's a good player, but when Mo Williams, a REAL talent came nobody's really talking about him any longer.
Celtics blow chance to win in first overtime! BOO!
That game felt like it was 6 hours long.
Seriously. By the end of it, I was getting tired as hell of Stewart Scott talking about Cavs-Pistons coming on when/if the game ended. Great series -- Celtics hammered by injuries and Bulls hammered by inexperience and mistakes.
Game 1: Bulls win Game 2: Bulls can't rebound Game 3: Bulls can't do anything Game 4: Bulls can't make free throws
But it's a series! The longer this drags on, the more it favors the Bulls; not sure if the Celtics shallow bench can handle any more overtimes. Also don't think anyone on the Bulls can guard Rondo or Allen or Perkins.
The Bulls v Celtics game just now was another great game, amazing series. Just got back into NBA after not watching for years, living in England, it kinda suits my nocturnal sleeping style.

Maybe Stern and Co. got plans for NBA Europe, NBA Asia, NBA South America? Qualifying rounds by Region, and then a "NBAcup" every 4 years.

Orlando better get it together.
I hope Chuck Daly pulls thru. And Tex Winters.
While Chauncey Billups is loving life right now.
it was done to make cap space for the upcoming free agency - Bosh,Wade,Lebron, and them.

Allen hits amazing three to force overtime! YAH!

I wouldnt say "build around" but help an up and coming young team that needs vet exp.
U build around dudes like Lebron or Howard. 20 somethings.

Larry Brown knew shit was over.
Faux Rillz liked the Iverson/Billups trade "from all angles".
I've said Billups is one of the great PGs to ever play.
I said I liked Deron Williams. Ed_Powers said he was gonna be another Chucky Atkins.
I predicted 4-0 sweep by the Cavs.
How many points am I racking up here?

People need to chill.

Brad Miller: I like his elbows.
Curry should be fired. Misusing a Hall of Famer like that.
And forget the rest of those Detroit dudes.
And "from all angles" = I liked it for the Nuggets and Billups as well.

What an embarrasment. My Hornets are doing horrible. I can't even talk about them right now.
The Bulls vs Celtics has been really fun to watch.
