Spending Christmas in another country for the first time ever. BBC iPlayer keeping us connected to Albion with reruns of The Two Ronnies and Eric & Ern. Amongst the peculiar traditions over here are the giving of gifts and eating of Christmas dinner on the 24th, and chowing down on sausages and potatoes on Christmas Day itself (though how that differs from any other day...). Therefore, we're trying to strike a balance between the customs of our adopted home country and those we've grown up with by spreading everything over today and tomorrow. I might even go out and try to find a few German squaddies to have a kickabout with.

It should be interesting. I'll be delighted if he produces his Bolton loan form for us. It could be that he might thrive away from the shadow of Drogba, Anelka, Torres, Kalou, Mata et al, and at a club where he's much more likely to get a start. I've heard people say he's selfish and not really a team player, but to be quite honest we've needed a selfish striker for a few seasons now. I'm quite hoping Rodgers starts him against Zenit and he scores five.
