people who stop caring when their team is out is how sports goes.
Only in Baseball.
It is true that fools watch the NBA finals and superbowl no matter what.
But, really, is that based on any greater love for the game? Or just the bigger hype/commercial activity associated with those two championships vs. the WS?

WhatÔÇÖs the most popular North American professional team in any sport, as judged by Google search frequency globally?
ItÔÇÖs either the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox. Each generates about 30 percent more Google searches worldwide than the most popular NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys, and almost 40 percent more than the most popular NBA team, the Los Angeles Lakers. You can skip down to the giant chart at the end of this blog post to see how all teams in the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB compare to one another.
The Giants had the third-highest attendance in baseball last year, drawing 3.36 million to AT&T Park, despite posting a record of 76-86, the team's worst mark since 2008.
mlb 162 games X 30 teams = 4860 Games Total Attendance 74,026,895
nba 82X30 = 2460 17,100,861
NFL 16x32 = 512 17,372,838
NHL 82x30 = 2460 12,758,849
Liga MX 14x18 = 252 8,495,000

Numbers don't mean anything with out context.
OK I will do the last bit of math for you all.
NFL AAPG 34,000
Liga MX AAPG 34,000
MLB AAPG 15,000
NBA AAPG 7,000
NHL AAPG 5,000
The only North American Major league sport that competes with the NFL in attendance is Liga MX.
You will find the same with TV numbers.
MLB is not even close.
NBA and NHL are played in much smaller arenas, which limits their attendance #s.
But the question is baseball dying slowly?
If shown as a share of the market over time, the answer is yes.
If the answer is, "some people still like it", then the answer is no.
In defense of baseball, a typical game is about 3 hours long. Some fans choose to come late others choose to leave early, the effect is that attendance looks sparse. On top of that tickets are only sold for about half the ball park, so it is going to look sparse anyway.

Hey! That's what I have been saying.
but not.

and other things people would like you to believe

Because fans would rather just check the stats on google.
Combined
82/80/16 = 178
And I have no clue how many games the MLS plays.

You posted a clip about fans not GOING to the games.
I proved that to be wrong.
It was specifically about Yankee stadium being empty earlier this week.
The tickets were sold and it was empty.
you brought up last years numbers which has nothing to do with this season.
Yankee Stadium being "empty" in one particular game early in April doesn't have a fuckload to do with a whole season, either.
Hankee fans can't handle the cold.
"Baseball is slowly dying." Yeah. So is the Sun.
Both will outlive rap. Bummer, huh?

This idea that "baseball is dying" is one of the dumbest fuckall ideas I have ever heard.
The MLB total revenue in 1995 was 1.5 billion dollars....last year it was over 8 billion and on target to hit 9 billion by next year.
I could only hope that my bank account should die such a death.
My 2nd game this week.
It will sell out just as the last 200 or whatever games at Pac Bell have.
My liver will be slowly dying tmrw.
The media has been addressing attendance and speeding up the game for a while.
How is that not a concern as a fan?
Is The Game Dead?
The Media is predicting that the NFL will be obsolete in 10 years.
The Media has been predicting that Soccer is going to sweep the U.S. since the 70's.
The Media, for the most part, is full of shit.
400% growth in revenues over the last 20 years calls bullshit on anything the Media says.
And believe this, the NYC perspective represents one thing...NYC.
