I dont understand why cats are making this out to be a VS scenario.

Harden ever average 26 points per game?

Martin is more one dimensional jump shooter. Harden can shoot, drive, plus pass the ball. Think most would agree Harden is a far better player. Martin being a 6th man, instant offense for OKC still works for them.

Warriors had an ugly win last night against Phoenix who they should've blown out. Lee and Curry still can't guard anyone. They did start Bogut and he played 18 minutes. Think if he played more, it wouldn't have been as close. Carl Landry saved the day for the Dubs.

Back to the CBA. If I can remember correctly teams that go over the salary cap initially pay the players salary plus $1.50 for every dollar they're over in luxury taxes as well. So if Harden was to get $5 mil/yr, and that put them over the cap, OKC would be paying his salary, plus $7.5 mil in luxury tax making him a $12.5 mil investment.

  • yo joel, how did bogut look when he was on the court?
im a fan and definitely root for him to get healthy and make some noise. hes had some bad breaks!

  • motown67motown67 4,513 Posts
    T.,

Bogut looked good. Got some shots and rebounds. Played 18 min, 8 pts, 6 rebounds. Afterward he said the coach and trainers don't want him playing over 20 min a game right now until they're completely sure about his health. He said he wanted to play the whole game. It's good to see a big man on the Warriors who can hold his position and not get pushed around. David Lee is great offensively but absolutely pathetic on defense.

Hes not Jason Kapono. You dont score that many points from jump shots. Hes not even a Ray Allen.
He has a midrange and can slash.

If Harden is a 9/10 Martin is at least a 7.5/10 plus they got a rookie and dumped a salary.

As much as the luxury tax was a problem, sad to see one of the core pieces go. They were a really really special team. Rare to see such a tight group of young superstars together. As much as Durant and Westbrook did their thing, Harden was tough as nails. Dude really was the heart of that team.

Martin has one of the worst defensive reputations in the NBA, even if his numbers don???t always bear that out. Opposing shooting guards averaged a 12.6 PER against Martin last season and 47 percent effective field goal percentage, both figures below league average, according to 82games.com.

Just get Jamal Crawford dawwg. He'll also put up buckets in iso. The dude might even throw a behind the back on the break to D'Andre Jordan once in a while.

  • houston vs. ok 1st round playoffs?

Reggie Miller doesn't think Martin can create much offense on his own and needs to be set up by Westbrook, but doesn't think Westbrook is a real play maker.

U said he never had a game like Harden's Rockets debut yet dude has hit 50. Has Harden hit 50?

Why u mad at Martin for gettin swapped for Harden? They couldnt retain him. Its neither ones fault.

Keep shit real. U never even watched Martin in Sac or Houston.

I kinda think so, but I'm kind of biased in that regard. Still, dude's been playing top-notch basketball for years now.

Yeah....I'd put Allen and Pierce in.

The NBA HOF is very generous......

Joe Dumars is in which would tell you Parker should be in.....personally I'd put neither in.

And if Parker goes then you have to look at Chauncey Billups.

I would think the "best" player from any championship team would be highly qualified.

Amazing. 14 of 19 from the field and 15 of 17 from the free throw line.
    Jeremy Lin balled too.
Should be a pretty exciting Rockets backcourt.
