Barring some unforeseeable cataclysmic circumstance, no. Curious to know what brought on that suggestion, though.

Also out of curiosity, are anyone's predictions in this thread based on something other than vague speculation and/or hearsay? Not saying I have any better an idea than you do, just wondering.

You have to be nuts to elect a Mormon as pres. I live in Utah and if it wasn't so beautiful here in the mountains I would have left a long time ago. I realize Romney can't make the US turn Mormon but he has Mormon values and Mormon values suck.

    Mormon Values

F*** gays. The church actively spend money in other states to defeat their gay marriage bills. So much for states rights, unless it's Utah then leave us the F*** alone to weird out.

You can only have one drink at a time and that drink can only have 1oz of booze in it. No doubles, no long island ice tea (well you can but it's made with quarter shots so it doesn't go over). If you order a beer you can not also order a shot. That's two drinks ding dong. Wait staff are constantly forced to stand there like idiots and make you finish your drink before given you the next one you ordered. They hate it!

That dink also has to be prepared behind a shield if in a restaurant be cause you know people eating may go crazy and become instant alcoholics if they see a drink being made. We call it the Zion Curtain and choose to find it quaint.

If your born Mormon you better stay Mormon or your family won't talk to you again.

There are regular Mormons and Temple Mormons. If a temple Mormon gets married his regular Mormon relatives aren't allowed in the temple for the wedding. Because really, if they were worth being related to they'd be temple Mormons would they?

Utah came in #1 on states that view online porn!!!! Weeeee so much for that temple Mormon sh*t.

Utah also ranks very high in prescription pill abuse as all those Mormon wives try to keep up with their 8 kids and deal with being in a cult.

Utah just preemptively opted out of online poker being legal in case the Feds decide it's OK. No vote of the people just blind weirdness. What state actually goes to he trouble of passing a bill that says we have decided for now and all time not to allow something no matter what the future holds for the federal government and other states?

Once out of high school you have to go on a mission and spread the word of Mormonism and try to get converts. If your mother dies while you on your mission........YOU STAY ON YOUR F**KING MISSION AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING BACK.

These are the kind of thing Mr Romey supports and pays a 10% mandatory tithing to every year. A tithing that could be paid with your tax dollars if you choose to elect him.

Believe me, Obama let me down big time. I really didn't expect him to go through with much because the president isn't really in charge. But Romey is the apocalypse.

But only Mormons rock garments with supernatural powers! You'll be the only country in the world with a president who's shielded by magic underwear so practically, you'll be undefeatable.

Yeah, but this isn't a Muslim or Catholic country. The Christians love to lay claim to the US and thankfully they love booze, porn and drugs. They just aren't too crazy about the gays.

"Mitt Romney was only off by billions of dollars when he said Tuesday that the federal government doesn't pay for police officers, firefighters and teachers."

New story in the Huff post. The guy is so out of touch he doesn't even know how government works. He tried to say a few months ago we didn't need to worry about the poor because there are programs for the poor already.

Newsflash Mitt, how to you think the local police get tanks and drones? Federal money you hair helmet.

Also the separation between church and state is barely there to begin with it's just going to be worse with some crazy cult member at the helm. Seriously, the Mormons are a cult. I realize a lot of religions have plenty of BS, but do Catholics and Muslims ban you from a family wedding unless you covert and attain the highest status in their system? No, only cults do that

Now if the super bullet deflecting underwear worked..... I would join.

The Mormons are not even the majority in Utah but they control the local house and senate and make the laws to suit their religious ways which is completely against the constitution.

They also share a lot of the ultra radical right wing beliefs already present in the republican party. Romney will have no problem legislating HIS morality. Having a Mormon president is going to send this country farther right than you've ever seen it.

Just curious....what Mormon values did Romney legislate, or try to, while Governor of Massachusetts?

If Romney's previous career is anything to go by, he's been pretty moderate as far as his religion goes. Hard to tell if that would change if he were pres. Of course, MA is the kind of state where pushing religious values into governance probably wouldn't go over well, so it's possible there could have been some deliberate restraint for political reasons. But he does seem like a person to whom financial values are more important than religious ones... which is really the key reason he's got the nomination, i.e. his enormous fundraising power. The only guy who could keep up with him in that area was Perry, who might have been able to win it if only he could campaign without ever having to speak.

Exactly. MA wouldn't even entertain underpants and Kolob philosophy...they already follow the Pope, not enough room in the psyche for another totalitarian bat shit mindset.

Governors tend to be more representative of their constituents because they are in much closer contact and often looking for long term political employment higher up (not always, yes some politicians want to do good for their state). The two party system insures the president doesn't have to live up to much because he's got a 50/50 chance of winning and getting 4 more years. Gay marriage and medical marijuana are prime examples of things the general public wants but are only being recognized at the state level and vehemently attacked by the federal government in the case of medical marijuana and blatantly ignoring citizens constitutional rights in the case of gay marriage. Gay marriage issues are nothing more than church fully interfering and dictating public policy in lieu of the constitution. Not only that but we have a pres that admits he smoked weed and did coke but has no problem letting the feds ( and local police) bust up a medical marijuana store fully licensed and voted legal by the residents of the state it resides in. At the same time saying gay marriage is OK but basically leaving it to the states to figure out.

My point is that Mormons are extremely far right wing and Romey will be that way as pres and have no problem signing and supporting all the morality legislation that he can. As I said before, Romney can't make the US Mormon but he can support the religiously biased legislation that comes out of congress every year. The christian right isn't crazy about a Mormon pres either. But he's very prezey looking and he's very far to the right and that's what they want.

If that's not enough for you the guy is crazy rich and totally out of touch with reality on many levels. He is most likely hiding money off shore, he think the poor are just fine and don't need any help, and he thinks teachers, police and firefighters aren't and shouldn't get federal money. He doesn't even know the basics of how the government he wants to be the head of works. He's clearly a right wings figure head the right is propping up so they can jamb all their oppressive legislation through congress and get it signed.

I fully agree with this. You think the Bush screwed the economy just wait for Romney. The rich only want to get richer and they have to screw the 99% to get there. The economic collapse was a direct result of deregulation and Romney basically wants to deregulate everything and put all the burden on the states to somehow fully fund everything with state tax (which is low compared to fed tax). All while of course continuing to collect our full federal taxes which will go to......????? Most likely corporate welfare and private jets for politicians. Oh yea and more drones to illegally kill people in other countries and here in the US as well. If you don't know about the rise of drone use in the US you should read up on it. Even with Obama as pres the country is moving further and further right and into crazy 1984 zones. The last thing we need is to blindly elect some cult member just because he Republican and "financially friendly"

They do it indirectly. They are the mouth piece spouting how it should be to the public and they also make it clear to congress "don't even bother with that bill because I'm not signing it". They also tell congress "I would like to see a bill that does this". The VP also can make the decision in a tie breaking vote and he's going to do what the pres wants.

Your not concerned about a president that is a member of a cult and will be paying tithing to the cult with you tax dollars? I guess your not worried about the drones they are starting to fly in US air space to monitor citizens either?

A] He won't be paying tithes in tax dollars, that's a really uninformed assertion.
B] Please explain the relationship between drones and Mormonism.

A] His salary is paid for by tax dollars and his tithing is based on and paid for by his salary. Therefore your tax dollars will be funneled directly to the Mormom church to fund things you may not agree with. It's completely informed and accurate. I also realize plenty of presidents do things with their money we don't like but knowing it's going to mandatory cult tithing is a whole 'nother level.

B] I never said that there is a relation between drones and Mormonism. If your not concerned about right wing cult members being the president THEN thing like drones flying in US are space probably don't bother you either. They are both very serious issues occurring right now that people don't seems to know or care about. The whole drone program is fully supported and encouraged by the right wing, financial, military industrial complex of which Romney is a part of and will do nothing to stop. You've heard of FDR right? He talked about it once.

Wrong. Once the salary is paid to him, it's his money, not the taxpayers. As Governor of MA, he didn't even take his salary.
Amount of MA tax dollars paid to Mormon church = 0.

Oh I see. If I don't share your particular brand of hysteria, then I'm a supporter of all kinds of evil right wing shit and, well, am just as bad as Hitler.

Got to love Soul Strut political logic!

Yeah, Mormonism is pretty weird, but so is Catholicism and most other religions, imo. I mean, Jesus is basically a zombie, right?.
