Gnat, seriously if you have $$$ probs. Why not get pre-orders. I'd get my mates to pitch in & we'd get like 5 to start with. (with overseas postage added of course) Just keep a record via your Paypal account. At least it would offset some of your initial balance of payment.
any new suggestions on this one? quite a good idea to get the money to produce 1000 cds. pressing only 100 has no relation between production costs and income, so i still think pre-orders are the right way to do it... just put it up, see whats happening, then calculate the pressing (if you only sell 20 on soulstrut pre-order you will have a long way to sell 1000 on the real world...?)
on the other hand: you have to get 50 pre-orders to produce 1000 cds. seems to be possible, doesnt it?

What's the word on some promo banner/avatar/whatever artwork being done up?
Mainly I'm kinda busy/lazy right now to do up some of my own, but I'd like to have some to post at other msgboards/sites as well as put up on my site's homepage.
Rockin' some avatars around here could perhaps cause a little buzz.
Or even just some raw graphics or psd files to work with? I've got some time this weekend to play with them.

i guess the raw cover artwork (earlier in this thread) and the website design is all we got yet. donnu if the graphic part of the cover is finished yet, but would be nice to have for those banner things
I'm waiting until tomorrow to get corrections...then I will PM bobbydee with the final track listing so he can do the graphic design...I want to give him a week to get that together (maybe mroe given the fact that he's donating his time, materials, and skills)...once the art is done, all I have to do is send in the final PDF file with a CD of the tracks, have them press up a sample, give them approval, and have the CDs made!
I think within 3 weeks.
But then again, I've never produced/coordinated an album before, so what do I know.
