I'll be honest, with Nash back in action they look like a more solid team. However....
Bench is weak as fusk. Still not convinced Dwight's back is ok again. Jodie Meek had better step the hell up every single game. Jamison is great, but needs to sustain that shit. Also i've never been a fan of D'Antoni's plays. Just statistically, with the competition being a little better than what it used to be in their division, they're going to have to start winning an awful lot.
If it all starts clicking, then yeah this is a contender team.
Can we finally start talking about the clippers? Is it ok to view these dudes as a team that could go a very long way?? They are BALLING at the moment. I still think they're a stronger team with Billups back on the floor, but they are really playing well.
And I am happy that my beloved Celtics are finally starting to play a little better.
Anywho, merry christmas y'all and I'm ready for day 2 of all this christmas madness. Good games so far.
And of course I'm glad that their attempt at roster-stacking is blowing up in their faces.
You're a fan of SAS right? As admirable as they are at how they run their organization from the front office to the court, I'd be amazed if they make it to the Conference Finals. I don't think they have enough athleticism to compete with an OKC or Miami or even LA Clippers.
Lakers actually have the "potential" to be contenders. And as a fan, that's all you can ask for from the owners.
A healthy Nash should get yall on the right track..
How does he look?
Conditioning/health wise, here's how they look:
Kobe A
Dwight B-
Nash B+
Metta A+
Pau B+
Having Nash in the line up is def a plus. He stabilizes the offense, but at the same time, it feels like the game opens up for both teams, and almost becomes a coin flip. drastically different from Phil Jackson's methodical and boring-as-fuck (but effective) approach.

Yup, Spurs fan, and I think this season is going to be a replay of last season: They'll have one of the better regular season records in the league, but they'll get figured out in the playoffs and get bounced, probably in the second round. They're way too reliant on shooting 3s to be a championship threat, I think.

Who the fuck are you Vintageinfant and what team you reppin'? And trust me, I know more than you.
Your knowledge is undervalued on this board, bro.
BTW, I rep the Bulls, whose middling ways give me no pain as I long for a post-Big 3 world in _ years.
Was that a compliment or diss? lol I am truly confused now.
Bulls are a real likeable team. I think I was zzzzing....i thought i saw someone other than Tom Thibideau sitting in as coach...or was i just trippin. Soon as they get D. Rose back, they'll be back in contention. I'm a fan of Rose.

You ain't the only one that thinks so with regards to Billups. I'm trying to find holes in their game right now, but it's hard to do. Barnes has really found his niche within that uptempo offense. Defense 3rd in the league is really impressive too.
Fuckin' Russian owner expecting to be in the East Finals this year. lol Don't like the long term prospects of the team with an owner having a mindset like that.

They have a 14 game winniing streak, sitting on top of the entire league le.
Of those 14 wins only 3 were against teams over .500. The best being The Nuggets who were 1 game over .500 when they played.....The Clips are a good team but their schedule has been a joke..

extremely disappointing loss last night for the lakers. that 5 game winning streak doesn't mean anything after the performance (or lack thereof) displayed last night. there were several rebounds and loose balls that were a 50/50 shot for both teams to have, lakers watched, stood around, a few times i saw a hand go up but no movement of the feet (DWIGHT!). in my opinion it was the worst loss of the season, we've lost to worse teams but given the circumstances...going into it with a 5 game win streak, denver coming off a beat down loss vs clippers, i had absolutely no faith in their defense last night. every time kobe scored a ridiculously hard 3 pt shot i couldn't cheer cause i knew on the other end we'd give up either an easy lay-up AND 1 or a wide open 3 pter or hell even foul the 3 pt shooter.
on the other hand its nice to see the clips just rocking teams and in exciting fashion.
