2nd leg won't be an easy game by any stretch, but with a stronger line-up, a more committed approach whilst taking into account Man Ure's very decent away form, they got more than a good chance of turning it round.

Bilbao never gave UTD a chance. Best moment of the match (aside from the sumptuos Van Percy-esque volley) was their RB waltzing straight through three UTD defenders like they weren't there... only to put his shot wide. The skill was 1970s Brasil though, would've been goal of the season:

On top of the amazing players, the fans gave Giggs a standing ovasion when he was subbed, cheered their players every time they chased down a lost a cause, applauded Rooney's goal, and gave the whole match an amazing atmosphere. Owned in every sense.

    TOP OF THE LEAGUE

    b/w

Very impressive Bilbao side, doesn't reflect badly on United at all.

Turns out that they can't treat Europa League with the same life or death commitment that they do other tournaments. oh well.

Well, it is always easier to applaud the other team when you're cruising to victory no?

Anyway no complaints about the result here, would have been nice to have added that one last trophy but was never the priority and Bilbao played lovely football and deserved to go through. I hope they go on and win it.
Does make me wonder quite how good Real are this year - everyone nay-says them but they're obviously doing something extremely right.

Positives: More time to focus on sorting it out for next year, could have been worse, we could have been knocked out by Sporting.

Yes, yes. 'Bilbao are quality.. Didn't really want to win it anyway..'

Doesn't really detract from the fact you again looked incredibly ordinary and got an absolute spanking of a midtable Spanish side over two legs.

    -

Obnoxious football banta aside, on the plus side it was good to see Cleverly back and Pogba (sp?) looks like quite a prospect.

  • JuniorJunior 4,853 Posts
Ha! I forgot to mention that the Europa Cup looks like poo and everyone who touches it has poo fingers. Plus 7th does not equal mid table, it equals Liverpool. Hmm, that second point didn't really do me any favours.

Was excellent to see Cleverly back. Still not entirely sure about Pogba but he's still young so who knows.

I wonder at what stage the media will actually accept that the well worn argument that team for team the Premier League shits on all others is not possibly as grounded in reality as it once was. And by media I don't mean the Guardian.

  • OkemOkem 4,617 Posts
I dunno if Pogba is properly ready for the first team, from what I read you were force to advance him to stop him being poached by Juve. But Fergie must rate him and he's touted as the 'next Vieira'.

    Champions League draw

    1. APOEL x Real Madrid

    2. Marseille x Bayern Munich

    3. Benfica x Chelsea

    4. Milan ??x Barcelona

All set up for the Real vs Barca final then. & always good to see that had Arsenal made it through we would've once again drawn Barca.

  • JimsterJimster Cruffiton.etsy.com 6,960 Posts
Freal doe, I think it best, at this stage of the season, that we all concentrate on the league.

All these other continental types can pat deyself on the back until dey blue in the face but no-one is really going to do Barca, are they? The others are folling deyself.

    That's my excuse anyway.

Yeah, liking "Sun Goddess". Very nice that. The others are a bit too repetitive for my 2p. BTW, did you know that the site puts a really annoying "BEEP" in, on every 30 seconds, over whatever's streaming? I mean, less concious headz may think it's part of the tunes...

I just bought one BTW (order 646370)

    Keep it up!

Messi has scored as many goals in his last 7 games as Torres, Carroll and Suarez have in their last 103 combined.

    FACT OF THE DAY.

Not to detract from man's goals but I would also like to qualify that with the fact that that league is less competitive, they all play in the sunshine and ting, and the matches are all bent. IMHO.

Ha. I mean, could he really do it with the likes of Huth and Shawcross all up in his grill?

@. Beatnik, which rubbish lib did you use?
There's some more crap to dump on you and you WILL take my don c on. It's signed, dude!

@ Jimster, sold the jazz hip trio now but I will upload to sound cloud when time permits.

he should get at least an "executive producer" credit for supplying sampleable chud, right...?

also, what is this don cunningham album? not the one that was reissued a few years back by ubiquity?

  • skelskel You can't cheat karma 5,033 Posts
Yes. They reissued from the copy I sourced for them.

Nice arrangement they got going on. I think you'd only get a thanks in the liner notes (if you're lucky) . Maybe if Skel had a particular raer and knew it was straight blazin' lava son (just add drums) he'd be probably working out some agreement.

  • DuderonomyDuderonomy Haut de la Garenne 7,794 Posts
So basically Skel sourced the sample, told Beatnik to flip it, and doesn't even get co-production credits?
    Zomby moves ;)

I turned in some work for mein Austrian chum a while back:

    http://www.junodownload.com/products/great-first-steps-ep/1645319-02/?trackid=4

There's a Bowie x Sunburst x Negro "Fashion" remix he did too, which he used my bass on. I can't remember how many different versions there are 'cos I gave him a load of loops but there was no money changing hands, JUSK 4 SHITZ AN GGLZ.

Mystery hum on bass is a mystery. I think it's a result of an amp emulator. I got a version where it's a bit Jaco in the chorus but it's probably too busy for it's own good.

I think you need a DI box or something if you're going straight into your soundcard.

I copped one of these a while back to solve my amp sim buzzing woes:

    Not bad for the price.

But, to be honest, I pretty much now record all bass direct via this preamp:

Ooh, gearhead porn. Those Drawmers are lovely - like smack for the ears. A mate of mine shoved everything on his first album through one of those.
