Yeah, sorry but I've gotta stick to my schedule.

As for want lists, feel free to send them but I really can't sell records over email/PM at this time. Even trading is iffy - I'm providing a service to the people that come to my store, and every time I send something off over the internet it undermines that service for people who want to come in and buy/trade in person.

Hey, I'm excited for you. I hope your shit becomes the Groove Merchant of the East Coast.

    Arcadian's rules for success

    1. Location, location, location
    2. Selection, selection, selection
    3. Price shit to move, not for maximum profit.
    4. Customer service makes or breaks a business.
    5. Treat all customers with respect. That little dude won't always be little.
    6. Be approachable. Nothing worse than an employee that can't be bothered.
    7. Put notes on records with dope tracks. I love how Groove Merchant does that.
    8. Work hard, 25 hours a day
    9. Don't fall behind in that paperwork. That shit can kill you.
    10. Love your work. Enjoy life.

Was there a short dyed-blond girl with dreads working there at the time?

Mama's is actually on the same block, as is their "to go" option (which I think is called "Mamas To Go".)

Two Boots is on the block too.

You know, I don't think so. I mean, there's so many people that already do, although feel free to give us a call and if we have enough stock of something we'll sort you out.

Clowning is optional, but I like Tony's idea of charging for the beratement.

331/3rd - dope! I heard whisperings and I think LA is another place that could benefit from more/better shops.

Do you plan to have listening stations/allow portables?

Not sure if this was mentioned already or not.

We have one listening station, and I am perfectly willing to play shit on the house system as well.

Sorry, but I am not going to allow use of portables... that's what the listening station/house systems are for and there's no good way to allow folks to dig freely while keeping dudes from thrashing a $100 record on their fisher price. I'm open to suggestions though...

can you try to enforce a reasonable time limit at the listening station? Last time i was in NYC, cats at Sound Library were spending STOOpid time w/ the headphones- that's so annoying.

but yeah, this is really great... now i can get my records AND my giant robots on the same shopping trip
