Los Angeles is not even an american city to me...Feels more like a Mexican/Jewish/Russian/Black/White town where people don't get along, whre Mexicans are bitter, where people don't believe in education and don't believe in the power of soap and deo. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE USA. But not L.A. b,121b,121h,121

My vote for American cities would also be Phoenix. Mind you, this was based on a rather limited experience but in terms of cities where I would never, ever want to end up living, this scores the highest, easily. b,121b,121Second on that list would be West Hollywood. img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" 21b,121b,121Globally, I would say I had my worst experience in Cebu City in the Philippines but that was mostly due to oppressive heat, smog and a bad jeepney ride creating a perfect storm of badness.

  • SANTA FE N.M.! Although beautiful,it's expensive, boring(unless you like hiking all day everyday) and plagued by traffic, speed bumps, stop signs and bad drivers..It's dubbed the "city different" but in my opinion it "different" in all the wrong ways..

font class="post"1b,121b,121thank you. Buffalo has got major problems (and cold winters) but its also got a ton of great old buildings, heavy history and great cultural institutions (if you do some research and know where to look) and its literally 50x easier to live in than most cities (assuming you find work of course - admittedly a problem). there is also a growing arts and music community that weathered the Rustbelt Dark Ages (roughly 1970-1995) and is now rebounding slowly but surely. Add to this a slew of big (and decently planned) municipal projects finally coming online after 20 years of red tape and id call it a city with a future. Plus its the HQ (both corporate and manufacturing) of New Era Cap! b,121b,121i agree that bakersfield is sort of a random suburban wasteland in the desert but i have a good friend who lives there and ive learned from him how its got its charm sometimes.b,121b,121i would vote phoenix, vegas, all those "lets put a huge sprawling megalopolis in the middle of the desert! whats wrong with living in a place that hits 115 degrees and has no water? and by the way, KEEP ON BUILDING!" cities. they bum me out without fail when i am there.

Chauvanism aside, the city definitely has its downers(crime, drugs, poverty, america, etc, etc). I've been to many places worse. Buffalo, Louisville, Harrisburg, Morgantown, and most parts Washington D.C. to name a few.b,121b,121Someone mentioned Memphis earlier. I had alot of fun when i went there but yeah, there's that crime thing.
