Greeley, CO. b,121b,121the whole town smells like blood and sh!t from the local slaughterhouses, and when people visit you from there, they carry with them the lingering smell of blood and feces and don't even realize it. it's hard for me to imagine a more depressing place.

font class="post"1b,121b,121Nah that can't be real. b,121b,121h,121font class="post"1b,121b,121oh, believe. this was circa 94, so things may have changed, although Fast Food Nation was written since then and describes it much as I remember it.b,121b,121I lived in Colorado Springs, which itself offers plenty of shittiness to contend with (counterbalanced by some beautiful scenery), and my gf at the time had relatives from Greeley. We visited twice, they visited frequently, the stench of shit and rotting flesh twas in the air.
Quote:/font1h,121b,121Houston (sorry pointman) and all its cookie cutter shitty burbs (spring, katy, humble, conroe, ad nauseum) one gigantic ass strip mall...hot, humid 10 months a year...4th largest city in the US and not a fuggin thing to do there. b,121b,121h,121
font class="post"1b,121b,121I've always been of the same opinion about Houston.b,121b,121Also:b,121b,121cosine on Worcester - it's awful.b,121This one time I drove through Macon, GA and spent an hour there. It was really depressing. But Otis Redding alone probably keeps it from falling to the depths of despair inhabited by such lowly creatures as Houston and Worcester.
Quote:/font1h,121b,121b,121b,121I almost forgot Tillicum, WA. Big_Chan probably could vouch for me on how shitty that town is. b,121b,121h,121
font class="post"1b,121b,121What up Mike! Co-sign that Tillicum, WA is NOT a nice place. b,121b,121 img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bucs.gif" alt="" 21
i was thinking el paso as i opened the thread and there it was...corroborated on my first post.b,121b,121houston was pretty shitb,121b,121salt lake city...no place run by mormons can get a pass in my book.
i've heard that Salt Lake is undergoing a big turn-around under their current (still, I think?) lefty mayor, who's making a lot of moves re: greening and public transport. anyone from the area care to testify?
Quote:/font1h,121b,121If you want to call it a city... Lowell, Mass b,121b,121h,121
font class="post"1b,121b,121While it truly is shitty, there are some things about Lowellb,121that are pretty cool - some buildings and businesses that stillb,121exist from the time that Jack Kerouac lived there and wrote aboutb,121them. Like many shitty cities, Lowell was once a pretty nice place,b,121thriving and solvent, until the local industry dried up.b,121b,121I'd rather hang out in Lowell than Lawrence or Worcester.
seeing ^^^ makes me realize it's a bad time to drop my two cents in here.b,121fusk the following cities:b,121buffalo, nyb,121ronkonkoma, ny (li)b,121boston, ma (sorry, soi, gbh, etc's)b,121lowell, mab,121temple, txb,121dallas, txb,121fresno, cab,121bakersfield, cab,121phx, azb,121mufuskin SCOTTSDALE, azb,121las vegas, nv (just not my thing)b,121santee, el cajon, poway, etc. ca (hey neighbor)

font class="post"1b,121b,121lol, dude - if Boston is the "shittiest" city you've been to,b,121consider yourself lucky. I know people don't love this place,b,121and it ain't El Dorado by any stretch, but it ain't even in b,121the top 500 shittiest cities in the US, my man. We already namedb,1213 other cities in Massachusetts that are armpits compared to Boston.
