There is a killer trck on this one, Soul five. Best german jazz funk record I know, but i dont know much german funk. Got it from my dads collection.
yeah. The Modern Soul Band - s/t LP is good too (see cover above). Fantastic music. I like those two records a lot. Might be two of the best Jazz Funk records from Germany.
There is hardly any German "Funk" record. Mostly Jazz or funky Schlager. No Soul/Funk LPs. There might be some records with one or two funky cuts, but pure Funk? Forget about it.
I like Tyree Glenn Jr. though. Two of his records are really funky. His dad was a Jazz musician in the US. Glenn Jr. lived in Germany and recorded some Soul/Funk with German musicians. He's like the German Wess (referring to Wess & The Airedales from Italy).
