Is this really 'psych'??? I'm not sure I've ever listened but I was under the impression they were fairly mainstream in their day...

Oh and that Sill came through the shop I work at once. Listened, didn't think anything of it, and put it out... I was shocked that there's a demand for it... on some Joni Mitchell shit right?

  • only given flame one listen. i had always wanted it so was pleased w/ my dollar copy. i think i'd feel ok calling it pop psych. but it didn't blow me away after one listen. Sill is better then joni who i never really cared for, but after one listen didn't really blow me away. i think it became hype lately because of the reissue

    Necros - Conquest for Death
    Damned - s/t

    etc.

    2. At flea market #2, for $1.25, from the poster child of unpromising Mantovani crates:

101 Strings Orchestra - Astro Sounds From Beyond the Year 2000

    3. At the motherfucking Salvation Army for $1:

Oneness of Juju - African Rhythms (vinyl looked beat to shit, but plays almost perfectly)

  • She occasionally forwards surprisingly off-color internet joke emails, pretty out there stuff for a grandma.

But to answer your question, yeah, you're wonrg.

was ribs & more a chain?
sorry, can't remember where that record is from.
that one tune is a nice one though- some mellow driving music.

  • Yeah - 2nd track on 1st side - def. has its moments. It's from Lynchburg, Va. and auto'd by the man himself from 86 - but I don't know if that's when it came out or if that place was a chain. Suprised someone else has this!

no it's definitely earlier than '86.

i thought you were saying you had to buy it because it was from "Ribs & More" and you've enjoyed their ribs on many occasions.

but if the necessity was because of the novelty of jazz and ribs together- it's no novelty. shit works perfectly.

GT Brooks' Ribs & More would most likely be GT Brooks' solo spot. and if you live anywhere close to Lynchburg, it sounds like you've got dinner plans for the near future.

I rocked this on DVD a couple weeks ago because I remembered it from when I was a kid. It did not live up to the memories.
