I think part of why Argentina has struggled more than they should have is that both teams have parked the bus against them, although Sabella also fucked up in his line-up against Bosnia. Iran had all 11 players practically in the box when Messi scored, how can you get you through that? It's no secret their defense is weak though, but any team that goes on the offensive against them will also be exposing themselves much more at the back.
I was surprised at what a shambles Bosnia were against Nigeria. Were unlucky with that bullshit offside call but still deserved to lose considering how poorly they played. That Onazi dude for Nigeria was surprisingly good, seems to be the only african midfielder who knows how to pass the ball around.
Also, hate to use the usual cliches but Ghana could've been top of the group at this point if they weren't so naive. They could've had a better result against the USA! USA! USA! and should have put the game away when they were winning 2-1 against Germany. The germans still have a soft underbelly though, which they've had for a while but never got tested when Portugal imploded in the first match.
wonder if Cristiano Ronaldo will show up today, but I think that depends more on how stupid Nani decides to be. He has got to be one of the dumbest players around, you can always expect him to make the worst choice when he's got the ball.
