Neither side have ever won a game at the World Cup, so there's everything to play for. I think Iran for the shock value would be nice. Winning their first ever World Cup match and becoming military allies with Teh USA in the same week. Who'd've thunk it?

Iran winning would make my head explode.

I wish both teams would just calm down a little and focus.

i really like that there has been absolutely nothing "safe" about this game. both teams trying to have the game of their lives.

Ponytails are allowed in Iran now?

    B/w

It's gonna be a loooooong time before an African team win the WC

Half the team is from outside Iran..but otherwise, anything is allowed in Iran as long as it's in private
But there are definitely nightclub fancy long-hair dudes with designer sunglasses and all that noise there, too

Nigerians kit is almost the exact shade of the grass. Good camo tactic.

How come there is no instant replay in futbol? It makes no sense to me, considering ONE goal determines the outcome of a game.

    You sound American

  • Iran is playing a little chippy, sure... but fuck me the Nigerians sure make a meal of these bumpy challenges.

Nigeria never won a WC game? That surprises me, they were Olympic champions not that long ago and played well in that tournament.

Just heard commenting man slagging Nigerian corners.

    "Really poor set play."

    Rooney fall back, thun.

Iran has a reputation for religious intolerance and entrenched sexual inequality, but things are changing for the better. A new edict has been signed allowing women to attend football games for the first time in 30 years. This corrects a grave injustice - the fact that police officers were technically breaking the law every time they dragged a rape victim onto the pitch at half-time to be beheaded.

Posh Londoner packs his job in and goes driving around the world. Some very dry humour and great photos.

If by facetious you mean lazy and typical. Whatever.

Anyway - back to the most exciting boring match in recent memory.

But 4 pints in, lets keep it going for meriman.

I thought I would watch the USA match on line while I am working.
I do not have cable tv.

Is it possible to watch on line?
ESPN is showing me links for the pre game, and post game, but not THE game.

If you got links send them.

    Has USA ever beaten Ghana?

Yee-haw. Here's to a USA victory. And inventing a new chant.

    Whoa - interesting USA kit.
