-the new donald fagen is fucking amazing (minus 1 or 2 songs), has grown on me big time. "miss marlene" is the best song ever written about bowling. the klezmer version of isaac haye's "out of the ghetto" is ridiculous and incredibly ill-advised (although portions of it are brilliantly arranged): when don is talking about the ghetto i think he is reffering to the old european jewish ghettos. "not the same without you" is another highlight (check that harmonica solo). incrdible musicanship throughout, don presents a new set of young lions.
-carter jefferson is excellent modal ish from one of woody shaw's main men; one of the few muse records that is kinda tougher to find.

The last few were trades with friends. All in all the last few weeks have been pretty good and very cheap.
All the Jackie Wilsons are sealed as is the Basie. Everything else is NM or darn close...even if some of these aren't really my bag they were way too clean to pass up for buck a pop!
Hutson & O'Jays/Moments were mailbox finds from Dusty Groove (thanks for the birthday gift card, bro). Everything else is from a local shop I hit up every so often.
I think I probably enjoy the cover on that JB album more than the music!

Someone like Barbra Mason could do her own lp covers because they didn't need to get super models to front for her. People appreciated her for who she was and how she looked.
Today even a giant talent like Martha Wash are not allowed to put out their own records because their looks are not up to today's standards.

Bebeto is an early 90s reissue on Beverly, but it's not really a record I would hold out to find an OG copy and this one was cheap enough. This is the same guy who last month hooked me up with a pristine copy of "Maria Fuma??a" by Banda Black Rio. I'm gonna try to make a trip to his store, it's a few stops outside Porto Alegre on the commuter rail.
He's also wearing meggings.
