local yard sale score. bunch of crust punks, was expecting punk records but this is stuff their landlord "donated" for the sale. Latin titles are pretty whipped on the vinyl but I wasn't passing up gold label mono El Malo for $1 ... so far what I've listened to has played well, too. Funkadelic is white label with the poster. The 78 is the York Brothers "Sixty Minute Man" ... been a while since I bought 20 good records for $20!
oh shit! ive never seen the summer 76 before. any good covers on there?
i definitely check for all the earlier ones with the groovy girl on the cover. they had some autumn ones too

nice. on othr records they do scorpio, for the love of money, cisco kid and other things. the band is indeed pretty solid
Yeah, I got that Summer '72 one with the Scorpio. Speaking of a cover of Cisco Kid, the Orquesta Casino in the same picture has a version (). IIRC, there was a thread a long time back about the LP, which is how I became familiar with it.
HC: I was pleasantly surprised by the Broth record, too. Clean white label promo.
And something I noticed about the Latimore and the Jack Ashford: that cover motif sure was popular in the 70s. I'm guessing "360 Degrees of Billy Paul" was the "Illmatic" of its day?
Couldn't believe my luck...I took a blind chance at last Sunday's local flea on If You Really Wanta Make It/Change by Family Circle and was totally feelin' it (need that Al Green graemlin). A few days later I'm up in the Boston 'burbs on business and during some downtime Friday morning I came across this for 99 cents in Worcester:

Skel, I need that. Trades?
I really like that Bee Bee Butler Otis!
Yeah it has great energy and a gospel-ly feel to it.

"Love Hangover", "Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow" and "I Want You". See http://www.illtal.com/tag/cover/ for clips
Some ebay auctions say this is the rarest Phil Spector, the Rarest Darlene Love and the rarest Brian Wilson.
Very early Dr John
File under one of the rarest NZ LPs ever released.

Is the Masisi as good as it looks?
Yeah, that's a great record, the star of the bunch is the Steve Black though...
