It won't change your life like crack will, but it's a real solid and unique sound. Medium is good but not quite as good, but apparently Puzzle is their best.
KL, all things considered, the whole sound bwoy series sound really good... they dope. props to shotta!!! sip
Yea, I think the quality is great on these. When you consider how bad a lot of reggae LP's sound I think they did a good job on these. Plus, all the cool toasts in between songs. Pretty sure DeeRock had his hand in this as well. I did a perty once where about an hour of the set I just used 2 copies of vol 1 and played everysong with toast breaks and it went over well. Good way to keep your rares at home and in good shape.
His singing is only ehh... for the most part, though not awful, but the playing is dope, with Bernard Purdie drumming on all tracks, Chuck Rainey on one, just nice sounds throughout...ever want to hear Bernard Purdie play on a version of "Hey Joe?" This is the spot.
from north cambridge:
Vinyl was suspect on the visual, but I just listened and it played like a champ...been wanting this one for a minute, and the OG plays so sweet.
Got in the car and found out my #1 homegirl St*cy A*n working the register had slipped a copy of this badboy into my bag for free, as a surprise gift:
word.
Can I get an OG czech[/b] on this? Should I bother? I just know it has been booted/reissued, but they had priced it like it was OG, even though I got it for free...thanks Sta*y!!

Just got back from Brazil 4 days ago. Brought back about 100 platters. Here is a quick selection from the re??l-bins of Rio (I guess this is more like past3weeks finds):
Brushing up on my MPB selection
And some non-brazilian niceness
All the non-brasilian items are OG pressings.
I haven't really had the time to give them a serious listen yet, but right now these are getting some serious airtime:
Jorge Ben "A T??bua De Esmeralda" (beautiful melodies and arrangements)
Milton Nascimento "Clube De Esquina" (more beauty)
All the Egberto Gismonti recs (why did I sleep on him in the past? Moody loops and bits 4 dayz)
Damnit I hate those plastic-innersleeves they use!
All the Egberto Gismonti recs (why did I sleep on him in the past? Moody loops and bits 4 dayz)
some of his earlier recordings are good but what's real is seeing him live. seriously a virtuoso on both piano and guitar- saw him play each solo and had my mind blown.
Finally listened to a record I'd had up on the wall for a few weeks and decided to take it home with me last night as a reward for our busiest Saturday ever. It's a 1984 LP by After Dinner - S/T (Recommended). Beautiful avant-garde Japanese stuff with female vocals, cellos, kotos, weird percussion and noise. Great art work too.

Cool mellow 1968 psych from Philly. Lots of organ and what sounds like a harpsichord. Some sitar too. Only listened to once so far but I like it.

Well, not exactly facemelting ;-). I bought it because of the cover. Pretty cheesy easy organ samba with one decent track.
i can't really read the text that well. but is that a different barbara and ernie album?!

just the promo of "a prelude". sorry, shrunk a few pics too much by accident
hey aleit, where did you find those?? hahaha
this is one of those loft/garage tracks that i could never understand.
What's this?
It must have been the needle at Kop's, then. YEah, good song selection...missing a couple things, but good nonetheless.
I picked these up:
Excellent Canadian/West Indian steel drum album. Wicked WOman
On WIRL, includes a Meter's cover of "Cordova" that is tight.
A double.
A dope tune.
K in Canada.
