lol - just the Rap Radar banner and an all-black screen - ak! why does my work not allow me to hear the raps?
I sent the link to my email so I don't forget to check it!
He puts out too much music, which leads people to take him for granted but, almost twenty years in, he's still capable of surprising with something creative and different.
"Creep Fast" with T-Pain is one of my absolute favorite tracks from recent years. Twista slows it down, T-Pain speeds it up, Twista sings, T-Pain raps, and it just kills.
Yeah I've always loved Twista since I first read about him in maybe The Source when he was featured because of the Guiness thing. I mean he was the first real big rapper out of Chicago to hit the national consciousness, right?
My only issue with dude over the last few years is that he had a huge hit with Slow Jams then another with Overnight Celebrity, which were both awesome. Then, for a few years* after that he was just rehashing those 2 songs hoping to capture lightning in a bottle. It was the cause for some seriously bad records by dude in the last several. I mean did you hear that song Daddy AKA Wetter? So so bad... For a minute, I actually wrote dude off on some Nas shit (really dope MC who I love but who can't make a good record to save his life) but this is really refreshing. I will definitely buy it when it comes out, if it comes out.
(* This song withstanding, which is one of the best club records of the decade.)
Never speak of this record. I'm having flashbacks just thinking about it.
Agree that he tried too hard and for too long to recapture his cross-over moment with "Slow Jams"/"Overnight Celebrity" knockoffs.
Back when I was in high school, my best friend had that first album he put out as Tung Twista (Loud Records' first release, I think), and I wrote him off as a total novelty. I should see what that record sounds like in 2010.
2nd verse >>>>> 1st verse
*shrugs* im not saying dude is a superstar, but i like the cinematic take on gangster rap these dudes have going on
plus the 'kill' vid bank robbery was shot like 4 blocks from my apt

Curren$y ft. Fiend - Flying Iron from Creative Control on Vimeo.
I think I'm going to walk back some of the harsher proclamations about Curren$y falling off
Listened to it twice in a row!
Thanks!!

Da U Boys - "Pick It Back Up"
I just happened to randomly click on this post and heard this song....this shit is nice......
I really don't understand what's supposed to be special about these guys
I assume it's just the usual blog payola push that comes with secretly signing to a major
have you heard 'going in for the kill' -- best music video this year
