"Labour will campaign on crime while the Tories and Lib Dems will focus on bank reform and tuition fees respectively".

Really Lib Dems, tuition fees? thats the platform?

    bloody hell.

As a keen observer of your political shenanigans, i must say this is pretty fucking weak. Am i disconnected from the limey skreets?

    tuition fees...

    SMFH.

P.S: Tories campaigning on bank reform...

Tuition fees has been a key issue for the Lib Dems for a minute now. They see their voter base as coming, in part at least, from the upwardly mobile working class/lower middle class whose kids would have been beneficiaries of the grant system up until 20 years ago. As far as they're concerned, the lowering of tuition fees is about making higher education accessible for families in lower tax brackets. It's the kind of issue you'd expect Labour to campaign on, if they were actual socialists, that is. It's also a shrewd, if slightly transparent way to snag young voters early on by appealing to their innate self-interest in much the same way as the two main parties do.

Once the ball is placed on the center, the team with starting possession just kinda mulls around it until whistle is blown (can range from a few to a few dozen seconds). there is not much fan fare in the act of moving the ball.

Additionally, and this bit always seems like a colossal waste of time, the ball must be played forward on the first kick, and this is usually achieved by tapping it 6 inches forward to your dude straddling the halfway line, who immediately knocks it back to your other dudes, allowing your forward dudes to take position up the field.

I seem to recall doe, in the vague mists, that a few bold souls have actually hammered it at the goal from the kickoff - headz with YouTube at work may be able to find examples?

Makes sense, but is this a big enough 'issue' to peg the entire campaign on?

from my outside perspective this pales in comparison to the big two's choices and one must ask if the target market: the young upwardly mobiles, is a big enough one to hedge bets with.

Financial crisis, bank bailouts, rising crime, immigration, poverty, tuition fees...

In times like this i think all Englishmen must take a moment, refer to a great champion of the people, and ask themselves WWDDD?

    Bayern are rubbish.

They're only still in it because a referee felt sorry for them.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

In football related news, I have to hand it the French team. We've done our best to mess up preparations for the WC with injuries, sex scandals involving the captain playing away, violence on the pitch etc. However the French team have taken one look at this media frenzy, shrugged their shoulders and then trumped us with ease by involving the entire squad in something that not only involves prostitution but underage prostitution at that.

The bastion of impartial reporting 'The Daily Mail' are reporting she's 18 now and the offences happened last year so would have been 17, Not saying its right, but where is the 15 yr old thing coming from?

The bastion of impartial reporting 'The Daily Mail'

Terrible paper overall but the sports section is the best of all the papers IMO, especially on the Sunday

Yeah I originally heard she was 17 then her age seemed to drop - I think she may have been involved with Benzema a while before Ribery got his Blofeld mitts on her. It's all kinds of wrong either way.

Martin Samuel is OK for the Mail. The column I really enjoy for all the wrong reasons is Piers Morgan.

This absolute cunt calls for Fergie to be immediately replaced with Mourinho and HATES Wenger despite being a Gooner, the only thing that will change his mind is if he buys Gerrard and Torres this summer!

seems like someone's taking "if there's grass on the pitch then play" a bit too literally

Miss Dehar celebrated her 18th birthday on February 28 this year. According to police files, Miss Dehar started working as a prostitute in March 2008. She was making up to ?20,000 a month sleeping with wide range of rich clients, especially multi-millionaire footballers.

They would fly her to destinations like Dubai, putting her up in five star hotels. She is also known to have attended European Cup football ties involving English clubs. Prostitution is legal in France, but those selling sex must be over 18.
    - Telegraph

So she was 16. Grass on the pitch, and all that, and you'd pat your lad on the back, but NAGL for a grown man. Spesh when you know she's done more spit-roasts than Robin Hood.

According to what I just read, French police raided this club and found a bunch of 'underage' girls. That's under 18 though, so probably 17. Cause you're not allowed to be a prozzy in France till you're 18 see.

But does anyone in France actually care about this though? Or is it just something for the British press to get in a tizz about.

I guess it's been stirred up to lower morale amongst the French before the WC. Y'know, so Ribery and dem have to check in with dey Mrs on the moby every hour. Nowt worse than having a (scorned) woman on your back.

She seems... WHOLESOME? Not going to run off with a local gangster or Jermain Defoe. Can cook and clean and that.

And it seems he's always got the teenage slappers on the side for when he wants to shoot some video.
