The first half of the match last night was like a pastiche of everything good and bad about Didier. Was nice to be amused by it for a change. Did feel for him on the groin injury though, studs on sack can't be a good feeling. Great ball by Fat Fwank as well for the goal. One ball for the sanchez miss apart, Cesc was appalling.
the edge goes to barca
i was surprised that mata was almost absent given he was a thorn in barca side everytime they met valencia
the ramires tactical move paid off handsomly
however if chelsea pull it off i can at least cheer for them against the team i despise the most (although bayern can pull of a draw)
this classico will be intense the race for the pichichi brings in even more
i've got more conflictual support clashes when newcastle face chelsea (2 senegalese strikers) chelsea need the 4th spot but castle deserve that their season actually accomplishes something
i am supporting bilbao's euro cup bid (la liga ftw) but that copa del rey is ours
it's my way of justifying interest in more games/leagues than i should
but i don't have seven team crest tatoos either
you also have to consider teams you hatt
but it's unjustifiable from a true fan's perspective and then when you mix country support in you've got issues
i will also not let go of my support (my spanish friend gave up on liverpool once the spaniards left)
although things at chelsea will make it hard (supported AVB)
current situation
BPL:Chelsea with a soft spot for newcastle (despise ManPoo but admire Young/valencia) also full fledged suarez fan
Liga=Barca with a soft spot for bilbao (depise Real but respect mourinho and Ozil is da future)
SerieA: Napoli softspot for udinese (despise all milanos...respect da god Pirlo)
Bundeliga: Borrusia Dortmund soft spot for hannover (kidding)
Ligue1:fuck that shit with a softspot for every african player in the face or Marine-n-em (despise my dad calling me about matches)
Damn. It must take most of the weekend just to keep up.
I have one team only, populated by rubbish players with no joy ever associated with it.
My football horizon is like a flat expanse of desert, with occasional tumbleweed. It is like the parched, stone-baked surface of Mercury, like the frozen permafrost tundra of Siberia, like the icy and relentless.aeons of the moon Europa, enslaved by Jupiter.
In short, it is shit.
it makes watching fox soccer report every morning worthwhile (bobby macmahon's scottish analysis makes up for the word soccer)
but i will be severely depressed as they pull the plug on that channel at the end of the month
making relegation battles and league point difference cliffhangers enter horrible youtube video search mode
also forgot to mention my MLS support for my local Montreal Impact (resuming itself to fighting with other canadian squads for second to last finishes and as in all sport at least being better than the wankers in toronto)
So, what are our loyal Canadian bredren doing to honour the Queen's jubilee thing?
I shall be dutifully taking advantage of the two national holidays on offer by getting as far away from the centre of town as possible.
I hear that 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols is a bookies favourite to top the charts again.
This would be totally in keeping with the national character.
and as in all sport at least being better than the wankers in toronto)
Fucking hell. No need to kick us while we're down.
it's petty but
the last game of the season for the habs made me feel better
the TorontoFC game made me feel better (the only game i will attend everyear)
i am sorry it's the type of thing that will never change
that and the world has already kicked you http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7023368/worst-sports-city-world

What are you talking about?
Fox Soccer can't be going anywhere??
Wynalda is one of the biggest cnuts in Football panel history. Please tell me you don't like him!
I'm sure Di Matteo had a word with Drogba after his diving masterclass against Barca. 'well fuckin played my son'.
Haha, definitely. Forget ball possession stats, how much of the game featured Drogba on the screen? Easily dominated screen time over Messi & co. with his antics.
We welcome all children of our Empire here.
The sun never sets etc etc.
So to my esteemed poasters, apart from Endtroducing, which other instrumental hip hoppy type album should I investigate? Just one other is enough.
Interest and curiosity is piqued, and there are a couple of libraries I'm partially feeling in the genre.
Well the other most celebrated "hip hoppy" instrumental album would be J Dilla's Donuts but it's pretty much at the other end of the scale from Endtroducing - it's all about rough and ready loops than the kind of carefully constructed painstakingly precise music of Shadow. And it's lacking in library influences.
More library based there's DJ Vadim's U.S.S.R. which is a stripped back sound and DJ Cam's Underground Vibes which is very much at the easy listening end of the scale.
There's stuff like RJD2's Deadringer which sort of fills the middle ground between Endtroducing and something like Moby's Play and then there's more fun stuff like Kid Koala's Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Coldcut's (shoutout to Yazz's Plastic Population) Let Us Play where intricacy is mixed with more smiles.
Tbh though all these are ten to fifteen plus years old so there's probably a lot of stuff I'm unaware of since I got full of it around 1999. Sure L** can hip you with his Ninja Tune connections.
Also, in terms of current shit that is awesome. Clams Casino's Instrumental mixtape, which you can download here . This version is remastered, for anyone who already has the original.
Not a fan of the "Shades of Blue" thing, but can agree on the Pete Rock album. In fact, there may be some other worthy instrumental albums from the BBE Beat Generation series (I couldn't say which ones though since I only ever picked up the Pete Rock and Jay Dee "Welcome 2 Detroit" releases).
I used to buy a lot of Mo'Wax, Ninja Tune, DC Recordings (the Tom Tyler stuff is very Shadow-esque) etc. releases around the mid-nineties which would usually be lumped alongside "Entroducing...." but I'm not sure how well they've aged, or whether you'd now call them instrumental hip hop... blazing downtempo, maybe? And not to take the question into technical discussion, but you could possibly argue that the Cinematic Orchestra debut is an instrumental hip hop album by virtue of how it was put together if not the actual vibe of the thing.
I also have a lot of time for the MF Doom "Special Herbs" series.
Damn, this is confusing.
I'll listen to Endtroducing and based on enjoyment or otherwise thereof, use the above infos to peruse further. Thanks all.
Now I need California male and female on cd. Neil?
And Woy Hodgson amongst others, re the great iPod changeover crash of February this year.
"another song I'll never finish"

"That's for the donkeys, you kha-a-a-a-nnnt!"
barca and real face off coming off losses in the CL
but spain will take care of business next week
But which team were you supporting last night?

this is hilarious
didier was being himself
and except for his pass completion % i've always cringed at the existence of busquets
Support every team in some way , then you always get something.
We all know that one goal wasn't enough though.
On the other hand, if there's one team who can pull it off right now, it's Chelsea.
Let's support both!
but i don't have seven team crest tatoos either

YES
This is what it is ALL about.
Getting one up on the neighbours, even if we're both in the gutter.
Meriman would never understand.
it's the never-ending all encompassing derby of life
wait, what?!
but his play this year ...young in the beginning and valencia in the end of it are a big reason of why ManPoo is top of the table
Fucking hell. No need to kick us while we're down.
Mapleman beef

Ha ha, I like how you picked up on this but not the admiration for Suarez which is the one that made my eyebrow raise.
I admire pcmr's approach to enjoying the beautiful game - has to be a lot more fun that sitting there wishing ill on 90% of the players you see on TV.
Also this:
Is rather wonderful.
I'm sure Di Matteo had a word with Drogba after his diving masterclass against Barca. 'well fuckin played my son'.
Haha, definitely. Forget ball possession stats, how much of the game featured Drogba on the screen? Easily dominated screen time over Messi & co. with his antics.
thought you could hide this in the Brits thread huh? you sunuvabitch!
ill give you guys the art, architecture, culture, gastronomy and sexy women edge..... but sports? let's leave that to the big city.
;)

Pete Rock - Petestrumentals, pretty good as well.
Don't bother with that RJD2, Blockhead crap. You'd be better off listening to Moby.
More library based there's DJ Vadim's U.S.S.R. which is a stripped back sound and DJ Cam's Underground Vibes which is very much at the easy listening end of the scale.

Shears already seen me right. Cool dude!
