Of course Neil Young sang about killing his girl down by the river, and Merl Haggard sang "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die". Yet hip hop gets the bad rap for inappropriate lyrics.

I think there is no Black equivalent to Brown Sugar and it would create an up roar and be banned if there were.

Perhaps the closest is Battle Hymn Of The Republic which compares terrorist John Brown to Jesus.
