...I gotta do one of my "follow ups" to say that this record is the shit.
"Odessey & Oracle" is a real touchstone around here, and this thing was actually recorded before "Time of the Season" became a hit, just a year after the Zombies had broken up. This LP has that rare quality where it sounds so ahead/out of it's time, it could be from 1970, 1975, 1980, 2002...dope, dope, dope.
Anyone have this and feel it's charms?
(ps I was psyched copping it, too, cause I pulled it out of a random stack of unpriced records in my hot spot, dude put a $2.99 price sticker on it and everyone was happy, especially me..)

Why is it that nobody's posted pics of Rey's parents (a la Crink's Mom)?
Hey honey, me and your dad have been noticing some "toy ass purchases" and your ebay credit card. What's up with that?[/b]
wow. deep creates and deep pockets huh?
rey couldn't you have waited a week and got it for 50?

you are right.
Sure. Where can I buy it again for 50?
A different type of ska - Islam
Rumour is Junior Byles borrowed this tune (from Meickle, an older childhood freind of Byles) for "Beat Down Babylon".
Absolutely gorgeous Johnnie Osbourne/Wayne McGhie collab with a funky flip.
These 2 had something going on. The label art made me think of Ms Damn for some reason.
I guess being an original Upsetter keyboardist taught him a thing or two about good tunes - he kept making them.
Font (and sound) screams New York production. Freedom of Movements
People say things go so well when me and this 45 get together.

Today:
Louis Cachere - The Hen 45
The X-Citers Unlimited - Soul to Billy Joe 45
Black Cat Bones - Barbed Wire Sandwich
Yesterday - bought 17 LPs for $2 each - best of the bunch are:
Jodo - 'Guts'
great early 70s UK blues rock, pretty heavy in spots
Vivian Reed - s/t
Great mod-soul cover of the garage tune "The Shape of Things To Come".
Cecil Holmes Soulful Sounds - Music for Soulful Lovers
'I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby' is friggin' great.
Marvin Stamm - Machinations
Anyone know this one? Some out there shit, especially like 'Machinations' & Jes' Plain Bread.
Leon Thomas - Blues and Soulful Truth
Jimmy Witherspoon - Spoonful
Aphrosite's Child - 666
Yeah, that's a nice kinda 'now sound' late 60s jazz LP...I found it years ago and recently pulled it from the stacks and enjoyed a lot of it.
