Classic songs that you inexplicably hate
That is an interesting point about emotional singing, probably why ABBA was so huge too. I never considered somebody would want to dial back on genuine emotion for marketability, but of course.
I get emotional with stuff my mom used to play and sing when I was a kid too - in her case, 70s calypso and the Harder They Come soundtrack. But there are exceptions - don't care about the Silly Sisters, nor the Beatles - their songs "came out of the fax machine" a long time ago and no amount of childhood exposure can overcome that. Not HATE though. -

New Music / Release Thread
Loose, raucous guitar fuzz funk from Misha Panfilov. In the single year of 2020 this guy has released like 5 or 6 LPs - all different projects. A movie soundtrack, a collaboration with Shawn Lee, a minimalist analog electronic album, a singles collection... a softer krautrocky album and the above. And 45s as well, including stuff not on the albums. He is psychotically productive. Here's another of the many: -

Discogs
I have one example of a seller putting a ridiculous price on a discogs record that I fully approve of. An early Karl Hector/Poets of Rhythm promo 45, never been sold, no media price, the only copy for sale is up for like 1500 bucks and a note saying "why else would I ever sell this". I like the "extreme price to show how much you love the record and don't want to sell it" rationale for insano discogs pricing.
