  • Finally listened to Paul Simon’s Take me to the Mardi Gras

    And holy shit it is terrible. Unlistenable. Couldn’t make it to the end. And he has that stupid accent that came out of nowhere. He didn’t have that with Garfunkel. 

    Ugh. 

    Back to Bob James version there is that voice in the background. All I can make out is “rise and shine”. I wonder what that’s all about. 

    It reminds me of some thread a long time ago where somebody asked what the worst version of spinning wheel was and somebody else said “the original”.
