  • It's a totally different thing. This is soul/funk/R&B and good at that, with some cinematic arrangements and a terrific flow throughout the album. But I like his Rainbow record alright too.
  • I only found it twice in Holland. Both times I payed 50 euro. Which is totally cool.
  • Yeah, such a great album, ???Le Mus??e de l???Impressionisme.??? And how cool to find at a fleamarket. The Monet track is a favorite. That was a good read too btw. I thought it had a cultish vibe, this record.
  • Hm nice, this is the Amsterdam I like. More like it was in the eighties, ha. Nice pictures man!
  • the 45 was on ebay too recently and went for over $1000. (My feeble attempt was nowhere near good enough on that either). There is at least one other salah ragab LP (apart from the neveen one, the heliopolis one and the sun ra one), but i have no …
  • no cairo jazz band LP ever changed hands on the board, worse luck, but i remember the ebay copy from about 5 years ago (pre-popsike anyway) - could have been gerald that won it in fact - i think it went for ??1500 or something? can't remember, but l…
  • Looks like a great selection. I've been curious to hear Lloyd Miller. On a side note, did anybody ever see that Cairo Jazz Band (original) LP being offered?
  • "Helga und Michael"... Has some charm because it was one of the first of those care free sex movies as they made 'm in germany. Soundtrack has not much to offer IMO. I think one short beat track, rest is vocal pop, not that good. But a nice artefac…

  • It's true these chicks were go go dancers. The former owner of my copy had stacked a magazine clipping in the sleeve with a picture of them dancing topless while on stage with the Black & White band ha ha. The sitar tracks are okay but the best …
  • A while back I found some private German electronic/new age records. Now I know the zen scene in Germany was (is?) huge so I thought there must be way more then this, private electronic stuff from around '80. The ones I bought had nice texture to th…

  • I've got "Afro Rock" on the LP "Ken James & His Rockers". Rumor has it that it is a leftover from the Staff Carpenborg session, although i doubt that. I'm not suprised it turned up on other records too. It really can't be from that same sessio…
  • Grope, do you know a record called Samba Soul Beat by a group named Black & White? never heard of it... if it is 45 coming from a german beat group i might know who to ask though. do you need the record? The record Hard Rock by the Hard Rocke…
  • Grope, do you know a record called Samba Soul Beat by a group named Black & White? The record Hard Rock by the Hard Rockers has the track Afro Rock which seems to come from another session altogether. Do you know it? What's the deal?
  • It saddens me to see a white english man receive racial slurs from a white dutch man. Let's put the hate behind us and start a new world, where white european man can walk hand in hand with white european man. Are you down? I AM. Actually, if you w…
  • Whoa, PCMR, is that your kid?! Incredible!!! How old is he? 4 or 5? Incredible how self-secure the sweet little fellow is, let alone the talent he displays. It's really great to see guys who are like me (record buying/music making cats) sharing th…
  • 1- Dennis Coffey 2- Jack Parnell 3- TOKYO Ska Paradise 4- Ray Davies Orchestra 5- Percy Faith 6- Babla 7- RD Burman
  • Okay, I'm gonna say I like the addition to the feedback system. Currently as a buyer that is. Actually, there could be more categories. Like quality of packing. The feedback system as it was didn't reflect reality really. Negative feedback is a la…
  • How rare is the Minikillers 45? Also, do you know a label called Orange, with an actual sliced orange on the label? There's a record on it called something like Samba Beat Soul. Know it?
  • Yes, I love that trevor duncan track too. It's from B&H's Colors, no?
  • Sorry to hear about your stressfull interaction with this Euro dude. People complain I guess. Anything above $15 from the US I would personally not pay, out of principle. At $15 I already suspect I have to chip in for the hunchback who makes the pac…
  • I sometimes improvise on the "we're straeking!" and the "jazz flute" scenes. Whenever someone tells me I smell of urine I say: "a lot?"
  • Hey, this is quite endearing. I love it.

  • Great stuff Leolyxxx! Here's a drawing I did recently.
  • I came to some mistreated Bollywood enthusiast's defense in a finds thread and was called little dude. Second contribution was in a Trouble Man OST appreciation thread and was called little dude for saying I liked that album (it was all about What's…
