Saying its not surprising is so disrespectful, unbelievable..you dont/didnt know the woman.

    anyway

May she find rest in whatever comes after death.

So sad to hear this. I was really rooting for her to get herself together and make more music. What a shame.

not disrespectful, she led her life in a particular way which may lead to a premature death, her life was headlines for years. Her issues with drugs were public.

It's a sad loss, perhaps her death and public drug use will serve as a message to others on the fence about getting help.

RIP to a talented and tortured lady

gotta disagree with this. Her struggle with drink & drugs have been headline news for years. It's incredibly sad but not surprising.

    R.I.P.

stop it, you'll make Jamal cry

  • Drug addiction is a disease and this is a tragedy.

If you haven't had anybody close to you die of an OD and you shrugg it off like whatever, she had it comin' then fuck you.

    RIP. So talented.

This reminds me of when Kurt Cobain died, it was a terrible loss, but kind of expected. Something had to happen.

easy man, I dont think anyone is saying that. It's just given her lifestyle & inability to change it alot of people would have seen this as an inevitable ending...

I wasn't saying that to anyone here. But my statement stands.

This is saccharine condolence card nonsense.

A talent died, it is tragic. It isn't cruel or heartless to say it wasn't a surprise, it's a fact- it is the inevitable risk of some very public & repeated behavior.

    A tragic loss.

That did not take long. What was that like the fourth post where assalgesia set in? The girl was swimmin' in dope. Humans can't do that. God bless her.

Beyond the loss of a young life, I'll always wonder what her next album would've sounded like. I feel both of her albums equally, the progression in style. I just knew she was going to change it up once more, alas, we'll never know now. The greatest shame is the short body of work left behind, call me selfish but I wanted more. She hadn't reached her creative zenith at age 27.

Thanks to Gilles & Benji for introducing me to her talents.

    Time to put on "Frank".

  • RIP

  • all of the 'rehab' jokes cutting a swath through the facetwits are criminal.

not because its disrespectful, but because it's just bad comedy.

This news is profoundly sad to me. I really wanted to see her win. Unlike these other girls she had a powerful and great singing voice. I hate the times we live for in for moments like this, the soundbite era, when people just go off within seconds, speaking in callous newsy miniature proclamatory quips of bogus wit and banal puns like the Rehab shit, feeding off of this shit sensationally, engrossed like jackals, anonymously, instead of saying anything with mindful feeling.
