D,
I had one of those a while back...pretty cool but I threw it up for an evil auction and was not disappointed. Is one of the 45's kind of gospel-ish?
- that Louis Hayes Group LP mentioned in the spiritual jazz thread yesterday
- Yusef Lateef Eastern Sounds LP (70's pressing but mint)
Yesterday:
- Gilberto Gil 2-LP Philips comp. of late 60's and early 70's stuff
- George Duke (I think it's called Feeling, on MPS), some of the songs start out real nice and peaceful-like before the proggy noodling commences, ruining it for me at least. OK for $1.
- Tone Loc/Uzi Bros 12" with Cheeba Cheeba (very silly, it samples that Paul Winley song)
- Ramsey Lewis - Back To The Roots (complete with ripped cover, I don't think I've ever seen one not torn) for $1
also recently,
Mickey & Soul Generation "Iron Leg" 45 for $10, VG- copy that plays great actually, so that was a good deal
I'm also waiting for a Sister & Brothers Jed Clampett to show up in the mail, someone slipped up and put a NM copy up as a $20 buy it now.
John & Arthur Simms - S/T Advance - Take Me to the Top 12" Deborah Washington - Rock It 12" MTL Express - Dance All Night 12" Rinder & Lewis - Lust/Envy 12" Rod - Shake It Up 12"

mine are not very gospelly, more in the jazz vein. loud mouth is phil cohran funk. then you have frankiphone blues. mmmmmm. they're very good, but I might need to make my money.

Digging in Bangkok just now, picked up a Peggy Lee "The Sounds of the Seventies" with that Dock of the Bay cover the Beasties used and a nice version of Spinning Wheel. Also saw but passed on a Bob James 2, an Esther Williams LP with another cover of Spinning Wheel and Donald Byrd's "Hot Dog" LP.
I have been balling like a.....ummm.....medicine ball, yo!
Do you realize that when you make statements like this, they pretty much say "Look everybody! Jeff Hassett is a baller!"? I am just trying to help you by pointing this out.
