My thoughts exactly.
i've been really interested in checking that. what's the sound like?
OHIO REPRESENT
Of course Jesus Rhapsody p. 1 alone makes grabbing up A Funk Hymnal
I think the better question would be: what's the least interesting comp they've put out?
The Twinight was surprisingly my least favorite so far. (although I love it)
My favorite would have to be the Miami Deep City one. Although the Capsoul, Bandit, Goombay and Gospel ones are amazingly great too. I still need that Belize one and the Ladies of the Canyon one..
When's the street date for this?
So essential. Capsoul was also an extremely necessary one.
8/28 i believe.
this is by far of of their coolest releases. although the twinight comp gets my vote as the 'best of TNG'
8/28 for CD and 2LP. Digitally on iTunes/Other/etc now.
Can't wait to cop the 2 lp!
This unattainable record is about to get more unattainable.
Great
i like the capsoul one bc many of those 45s, save the kool blues, can be found, so it's kinda cool to build one's own little capsoul collection after hearing the comp.
What, no SPOONBREAD "I'm the One"
OH SHIT. i am extremely excited for this.
i think my favorite releases so far were the gospel one and the prix label. capsoul was cool, but i usually skip a lot of the stuff on that one.
i need the twinight one i guess, havent heard that yet but every twinight record ive ever heard was solid.
Could you post a clip so we can all have a sip? Sounds crazy
They were sisters between the ages of 12-15. Billy McGregor (of Mr Shy and McGregor Brothers fame) produced the record for Willie Dixon's semi-custom Yambo label. Billy made no mention of the three girls dying in a car accident, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn they had. Details are funny like that.
I'll post a sip of the juice when I get into the office.
