His PBW, Q-Bert track "run the line" was a favorite of mine back when i actually gave a shit about 4 elements.

Throw some knives at me or whatever but I really dont feel Blackstar. I like the poetry tracks the best, but the production is

    just sayin

  • I still like the Blackstar album although not as much as I did a few years ago. I didn't list it here because I didn't know if it qualified as "underground". Most of the beats are nice IMHO.

    hell to the no.

and i used to be a fan....(no phat laces)

are we talking about albums or just 12". very few albums would make my list, but there are still a handful of singles that hold weight.

Yeah, that album was terrible... "The Session" was a cool 12", though.

Very few of those artists were able to tarnsition to albums, in part because they all tried to make that leap way too quickly, IMO.

That Street Smartz cut w/ Pharoah Monche

    "Metal Thangz," I think.

"In my basement is an array of torture devices that slices the next MC that thinks he's the nicest!"

The J-Live that was booted well before its major release seemed pretty decent. Its probably worth another listen. The Melodica EP was kinda tight even though I think Gift of Gab is corny. Unfortunately lots of local Midwest underground didn't hold up so well for me. I played the shit out of All Natural in HS, but I really do not dig Capital D. Still play 50 Years Down the Line for some not so distant future reminiscing. Dynospectrum was tight at the time but I can't listen to that anymore. Everything else has let's build yea son rec center open mic vibes. I'd rather listen to Ultramag Four Horsemen and The Extinction Agenda.
