wall stuff prices varied, but the bargains were in the crates
the "eagle in a box" german guys behind me
had three 12 foot tables filled with uhaul boxes
(also under the tables & stacked 4 high behind)
the lps were 5 euros on friday, 2 on saturday & 1 on sunday
    people were freaking on it

i saw many triple digit worthy lps sell for 10 euros

it is bigger & better than wfmu, if you can relate to that

  • Yikes! Just when you start thinking that your own collection is pretty swell you see something like that. I gotta lotta work to do. At least I had a higher percentage of the records pictured this year than last. I'm up to at least 4% from 3%!
I'd go and sell there but I'd probably spend my profits hitting up the other dealers (getting high on my own supply so to speak).

Does Canada count? I've been there 2 years straight for the April show. Usually go Friday's 7 am and do the day, I haven't been on the Saturday or Sunday. I'm planning on being there April. Trying to convince Jake One to come with me again (he came the first time), so maybe this thread will get him motivated.

Ouch. They probably just think it means 'the south' or something. maybe they like dukes of hazard. who doesn't?

yeah...mostly those dudes just align that shit with Eddie from Iron Maiden and the whole RAWK kinda thing. Probably not aware of the social probs with the image....

I also notice a sweedish flag in front of a booth. Could it be that the dealer is from the American south?

yup, longhair dood pictured is cool enough,
    pure southern rock moves &
hangs the big ol battle flag high so his peeps can find him

some of the older folks who are cd dealers plaster them all over their booths,
they seem to have "roots" music (wtf that means in euro ?) and are more suspect
one dealer was selling patches that were elvis' profile in front of the stars & bars
most of the euro folk of african & caribbean roots don't seem bothered
bigger racist euro issues to deal with
(like today's over the top football racist hooligans)

I went to a St. Pauli match a few years back and was really spooked! Them folls don't play that shit!

  • Hi T*M!

Nice seeing you again, didnt see you anymore when i passed your stand before i left on Friday..
I was planning to go on Sunday too but that didnt work out.
I hope you had a good time on your free day in Amsterdam!

I got some good deals this time..I'll post pictures of my finds when i get home.

This year was very laidback diggin compared to other years,
this was maybe because there were not so much Japanese dudes and the French dudes caught stealing last show got kicked out!!

Hope to see more Strutters in April!

  • What I found in Utrecht and could afford.

Got the LPs at my friends shop, didn??t want to carry them on the plane.
Sorry for the blurry last picture. Two top right ones are New York Rock Ensemble - Running down the highway and The Brandenburger 45s.

Most of these are for trade etc...not the Can 45, Muddy Waters 45, Serge Gainsbourg for certain

  • dang, how much was cortex? hows that uomini e squalli?

That Les Charlots has a cool Hammond track on it (Pas de Probleme ).

Yes, but I like the other funky track (Psychose) on it even more

  • dang, how much was cortex? hows that uomini e squalli?

Cortex was very decent AND IT HANGED ON A WALL :-)

I really like the Patucchi one, Very groovy, a bit dark and jazzy, great pianos and restrained brass.
