Program Recommendation for Recording Audio?

i'm looking for a simple standalone program to record from my audio input into wav format. that's it. any recommendations for xp aside from sound recorder?

You can get Audacity for XP/Windows too.
One trick with Audtion to speed up your workflow is to go into options>keyboard shortcuts and midi triggers (alt+ K on windows) and asign your own keyboard short cuts. This really sppeds things up for me.

If you aren't using soundforge or some other wave editor to edit and save your wave files properly, chances are you are getting about 1% of the value out of Acid's utilities. You're basically just using it as a pallette to record direct sound to and then chop it up and move it around. You probably aren't utilizing the loop/tempo functions, which is what the program was basically designed for. I would maybe check out some tutorials on Soundforge and Acid and see what you could really be doing with the software. Try youtube. Good luck.
