[ Flea market find from this morning. Psychedelic for lack of a better description. It's a nice tune. It also seems to be un-googlable so if anyone knows anything please let me know.

Yeah, that's where I knew the label from too. Walter Jenkins was the soul/funk artist on the label. It's weird because the thing I found sounds like late 60's but it looks like that Walter Jenkins 45 came out in 1975.
Augustine Ramirez worked with the Zarape label out of Corpus Christi Tx...not sure how the northern soul term applies here...looks like the record was pressed a few miles from where i live too ...

I'm saying this Johnny Canales record is northern soul because the sound of it appeals to some northern soul collectors, which of course is all that "northern soul" as a genre tag is after all (U.K.-based rare soul scene, if you didn't know). I'm liking the Dillard & Clark. Gene Clark can do no wrong. Some nice jazz across the top there, those were all $2 each. Arthur Blythe has an ill setup for the whole LP:

The OG euro beat comp on the right is pretty eh but the band called Black Cats do decent mod covers of Clarence Carter's Funky Fever and, even better, Arthur Conley's You Don't Have To See Me.

I first saw a photo of this band in PIZZAZZ magazine's story about punk & CBGBs when I was 9 years old. But I never heard them until now. Everytime I browse this thread and come across high resolution pictures of obscure 45's, I'm never surprised to see 'K in Canda' at the end of the post. roots & dub heat every weekend. How can i be down like this(minus the hi-res. camera)?
