[ Flea market find from this morning. Psychedelic for lack of a better description. It's a nice tune. It also seems to be un-googlable so if anyone knows anything please let me know.
I know I've seen that label online before (its a memorable one)... but I think it was a soul or funk title...
I'm trying to check out an estate sale this wknd, here's to hoping I come up so well...
Yeah, that's where I knew the label from too. Walter Jenkins was the soul/funk artist on the label. It's weird because the thing I found sounds like late 60's but it looks like that Walter Jenkins 45 came out in 1975.
Augustine Ramirez worked with the Zarape label out of Corpus Christi Tx...not sure how the northern soul term applies here...looks like the record was pressed a few miles from where i live too ...

Did he do other soul or funk stuff with groups down there? I definitely know his name from something else but I can't remember where. I'm saying this Johnny Canales record is northern soul because the sound of it appeals to some northern soul collectors, which of course is all that "northern soul" as a genre tag is after all (U.K.-based rare soul scene, if you didn't know). There's a soundclip at www.raresoulman.co.uk if you're curious what it sounds like.
I'm liking the Dillard & Clark. Gene Clark can do no wrong. Some nice jazz across the top there, those were all $2 each. Arthur Blythe has an ill setup for the whole LP:
post free jazz tuba
Also a grip from the Bay:
All from the same dealer - I scored the gorgeous OG of Lori Burton right when he listed it, for a cheap BIN. It's going to a close friend for her birthday, but I dubbed it and it's up in Real Headz right motherfuckin' NOW. For non-real-headz and skeptics, here's a dope track from it
The OG euro beat comp on the right is pretty eh but the band called Black Cats do decent mod covers of Clarence Carter's Funky Fever and, even better, Arthur Conley's You Don't Have To See Me.
Grotesque - The Fall Hex Enduction Hour - The Fall Second LP - Janne Schaffer Danish Design - Mads Vinding Group Kites Are Fun - Free Design Seven Stories - Teddy Lasry Pretties For You - Alice Cooper The Enlightening Beam of Axonda - Bobby Brown Arti + Mestieri - Giro di Valzer Per Domani The Rotter's Club - Hatfield and the North S/T - Pacific Eardrum In the Land of Grey and Pink - Caravan Girls That Go Plump in the Night - Caravan Photos of Ghosts - PFM Wavemaker - New Atlantis S/T - Marscape Waterfall - If Sconcerto - Il Baricentro Blue Matter - Savoy Brown Welsh Connection - Man Stay Awhile - Dusty Springfield S/T - Eclection Peel Sessions - New Order Happy Nightmare Baby - Opal

Went to scour an LI basement for extra copies of a certain 45... no luck there but did stumble upon a brand-spankin-new reggae collection. Copping of heat ensued. All OG. Witness:
one of my favorite Sugar Minott tunes.
heavy heavy records, both.
Tad & Bullwackie combine...
Jah Life original. I NEVER see Scientist LPs on JA press, only Greensleeves. Sikk
Bunny Lee + Agrrovators
another heavy Sugar tune.
wow.... pic cover 12" of this classic, not seen often by these eyes.
Again, I just. never. see. this. on JA original.
Now this is one I've never seen - Tad & Earl Moodie. Paper paste-on front & back.... Kevin?
the following wasn't from the same collection, but a long-time want and a major pricing malfunction
and lastly, the two keepers from the reggae batch, my favorite (maybe) reggae singer... also records I never see:
and a promise of a couple storages in the next few weeks... well chuffed
Everytime I browse this thread and come across high resolution pictures of obscure 45's, I'm never surprised to see 'K in Canda' at the end of the post. roots & dub heat every weekend. How can i be down like this(minus the hi-res. camera)?
@JohnnyPaycheck: how is the Magestic Dub LP. are you planning to sell any albums?

Killer Bajan soul stormer fopr the Northern old boys. SOld my last for $450.
Reggae disco.
Hard intro breakbeat.
Guyanese reggae.
Uptempo roots cut with tough dub.

Stellar latin calypso.
DD was good.
Earliest version of this I've heard.
