Hendrix 'in the beginning' on Shout, for the first time. theres some really odd skips in this copy's "free spirit", i didnt notice them for like 5 minutes because theres no click and the loops were truly perfect, i just though it was an extended groove. then it happened again, and again, and again! like 5 times. each time i was like "is it skipping? no... hmmm... oh wait... why would they keep playing this part so long?" haha..

Gwen McCrae - "On My Way" LP - Atlantic 1982

The underrated follow-up to the big-ish 'Funky Sensation" LP, produced by Webster Lewis...some nice cuts on this one. "Keep The Fire Burning" and "Doin' It" are wut's good.

Well I thought I was listening to:

Turns out, that it's the wrong record in the sleeve.

This is actually what I'm listening to:

SO good. Let it marinate in the Expedit for a few months and am feeling it now.

I thought I had to teach the kiddies this morning, but after getting up early and just now looking at the schedule, it appears that there's no class this week?

Now I'm up and about to hop on the FILA for a bike ride during sunrise.

    Have a productive Saturday erryone!

I had that one for sale too when you were here last summer, CosmoPh. When are you coming to CPH again?

    In rotation now:

  • A Society of Seven LP ...a horrible LP I saw behind the counter at the shop...the cover looked like it might be heat...nope. Gonna switch over to Jimmy Smith "In a Plain Brow wrapper" rat now.

  • My teacher talking about backing up and restoring systems and data in Windows XP. I'm working on getting my MCSE and classes at 8am on Saturdays are a bitch, especially considering I normally don't even go to bed until around that time.

Just got out of work, burned a quick one to the head,
and put on this gem. File under: I waited years for
a clean copy that was cheap...I should have just spent
the $$$ years ago, this record is beautiful.
