I got a Japanese easy-listening version that I think is nice...
Years ago, late one night while driving, I heard an insane death metal version. It has been with me ever since, and I've never found out who it was. I don't know if it was "death metal" or what, but it was the kinda metal where the guy sounds like the devil himself. Very low and deep gravelling growl kinda singing.
There's a version on the Coxsone/Studio 1 album "Swing East" by Soul Sam (likely a made up name to escape contract obligations to another label) that slams.

a ton of private press versions
Johnny Harris put out my favorite though
her version kills it imo
this is the same version as Young-Holy, they just had her sing over the track.
Same is true of the Shirley Bassey/ Johnny Harris rendition
where the hell you been at?
and Stevie Wonder's kills it.
