  • Its my 15 year old brother's birthday tomorrow and since he's just getting into music and funk, Im making him a best of James Brown and associates compilation from just the 45s. Right now I'm on Public Enemy Number 1. Sounds so fucking good. Its a great excuse for listening to James Brown all night.

Ruby Andrews - Let's Get A Groove Going On (Hyde Park STAND UP!)

Bob Dylan "Live At Starbucks The Gaslight 1962"

And 2 choice birthday gifts from my good friend Harry:

Not even sure from whence this came - handwritten title on pink label Clocktower

    - Agustus Pablo - Forever Love (version 1) / (version 2)

This is an double-sided, double-artist EP on "Pot 22." Plays at 33 1/3. No labels - text is etched into the dead wax. Yes, it's a boot.

    - Silver Apples - Parkinmeter Mojo / Witchhazel / Farewell To Cheyenne

    - Roy Montgomery - Liverpool 82 / Tangle Edge: Esperus

Anyone with info about these pieces - please get back with me.[/b]

    I spend days on Kawasakis
    Nights with Lewinskies
But I'm the like the Ice Man, Richard Kuklinsky
I style on New York, pile up my fork
The Dips, consulted by the son of Malachi York (doggy)
Cause I push weight, plus I push tapes
God damn I'm starvin' and I just ate

I don't know why this gets classified as prog.

I originally thought it was a two-tracker, but now I'm starting to appriciate the entire album.

I had to break this out yesterday morning for what would prove to be one of the most trying days of my life:

Did I mention that the day ended with a 41 year old co-worker confessing to me that she was a crack head (her word) and on the streets for four years, and then sweating me the entire ride to the professional function we were to help out at? The whole time assuming that I'm here "by myself," or without a girl, inviting me to dinner at her place (with no furniture), asking if I could walk her home, and when I dipped when she wasn't looking, calling me right after I got in the door? Nah, I don't think I mentioned that...
