was on the road for record day, wanted to contribute a few bits and pieces while i had a chance..
so....how do you embed the divshare player thingy??? totally stumped.
well heres the links anyway, all are 320Kbps Mp3s.
Gap Mangione "Love J.A.M." - from the LP "And The Kids Called It Boogie" 1974 http://www.divshare.com/download/13635653-503
this track is just terrific - check out the ridiculous drumming in the final stretch!
Ronnie Fray Capers "Road To Nominewee" http://www.divshare.com/download/13635632-1e5
perhaps more of a waxidermy thing, this is a haunting track with great guitar sounds. the rest of the album is iffy lounge...
ok these next two are sort of comedy, but lovers of crusty HS band action will dig them. i find their clumsiness endearing, and the vocalist is all enthusiasm and no finesse, but hes got heart. some hilarious horn fails but some cool grooves here and there in each.
Been a minute and like Karl(what up bruv!), I've been meaning to upload some stuff from my collection. Here are some things I think most of y'all might be into and there is something for everyone!
Peace and have a lovey and safe NYE and a excellent start to the New Years!
Peace and Respect,
Adrian(age)
Billy Taylor Trio Feat. Candido-S/T http://www.divshare.com/download/13648345-533
Notice there was not too much (or any Jazz except for the Gap Mangione) titles and decided to put this one out there. One of my all time favoirte Jazz lp's and hope you dig it too.
Carlos Ramos & His Orq. Fuego-Tecato http://www.divshare.com/download/13648347-681
I had this one up before and this is just a second rounder for those who missed out the first time around. HEAVY!
The Diabolics-I Bet YOu Never Knew (2nd Version)/Niggers Will Be Niggers Every Day http://www.divshare.com/download/13648471-db8
I like this version much more than the first issued one on the yellow label. Again more Bay goodness!
The Epics-We Are Made As One (Part One Only) http://www.divshare.com/download/13648507-0e3
Another Bay Area sweet soul record I treasure. An awesome cover version that almost (and I say "almost) kills the Manhattans version.
The Returners-Ep http://www.divshare.com/download/9272005-409
Anoher one I had up awhile back from the last Record Day thing. Cool Library session lp that was spawned from the President label in the UK. Not much known about the session players
But all in all a killer lp from start to finish!
Sunny and The Sunliners-If I Could See You Now/Should I Take You Home http://www.divshare.com/download/13648469-bcd
One of my favorite outfits from Texas and just reminds me of my childhood.
Sorry I slept on record day..I will post up the Machine LP when I return home tonight. Thanks to Paycheck for the Family Circle...Dope!!!!!
can't wait, been wanting to hear this for quite a while now!

Major apologies, guys. One of my RAM cards died...so my computer is in the shop right now. Excuses, excuses, I know. I'm posting this from work which I don't normally do. I will try to get it posted real soon.

holy shit
how did I miss this thread ? :cartman angry face:
good looking out on that Llyod McNeill, inner Space !
Home Rule has become one of my all-time favorite tunes
hope I will fall in love with another soon
I feel the exact same way about Home Rule as well, if not that entire album! Glad that I could share it. I get lost in the whole Tanner Suite. Unlike his other albums in a lot of ways... stripped down and almost hypnotizing. But still McNeill. Let me know what you think.
I think you could even say the first house/techno record.
This is one my favorite tracks ever, I could listen for hours to this joint.
I only have the Quality-pressing, but the original label is so much doper!
And the lyrics are also dope:
"Some bread and cheese and fine white wine,
designer sheets are but a matter of time.
could this be the real thing
or is this just another fling
Seen by millions nationaly,

Sharevari is really it.
Smoking on a cigarette,
listening to his car cassette.
Crusing with this hot playmate
in his Porsche 928.
Heading for the highest heights
for the climax of the night.
The people there just won't quit
because the music is really it."

Thanks for this one. I play disco/electro at the gay bar by my house sometimes. The crowd there loves stuff like this.
Got this sealed in a trade with a homie, cracked it open last nite and ripped it upon first play just for yawl. Crisp as fusk! This is such a devestating dancefloor cut, IMO. OAKLAND!
Rim Kwaku Obeng and Kasa: "Love Me For Real" (Best cut from this EP)
unfortunatly i cant rip any records right now (moved my studio and still havent got a 1210 in there), but as some have been liking my MCDE stuff i thought i d share two older tunes i lost in a HD crash and therefor cant finish/release em. Might be still nice to play out. sorry for the mp3 quality. Oh and so far the stuff in here has been really good!!
You guys cannot imagine my thanks for everything that has been posted here. So not worthy considering I am technologically inept and finacially compromised and unable to post anything of note. Anybody have "The Thing" by Arnie Cheatham? All i've heard is the break but would love to hear all. If not my ears will be set with all from this long thread. Once again Thanks To All.
I would do this again at the drop of a hat. Lot's of material piled up. But I'm too busy to be the catalyst, Ad*m did a great job in the past but I think he found the response last time less than stellar.
