but I ride hard for this:
"Everyone Loves The Sunshine"
"Chicago"
(In terms of tracks)
2. 2000 Blacks Got to Be Free
3. (Sometimes) Believe In Yourself
4. Searching
5. Everybody Loves The Sunshine
I like all these, I'm not sure what I'd replace, but I'd want to "Pretty Brown Skin" somewhere in that mix
2. The Memory
3. Everybody Loves the Sunshine
4. Red, Black, and Green
5. Running Away
6. Brother Green (The Disco King)
7. Aragon
8. Brawling Broads
9. Everytime I See You
10. Sensitize
I was hesitating over this bad, overlooked little groove:
exactly, the exercise makes you realize just how rich his back catalog is
The Third Eye
Running Away 12" version
My top-5 Roy Ayers joints (in no particular order) are:
-"Sweet Tears"
-"Baby You Give Me a Feeling"
-"Good Vibrations"
-"Pretty Brown Skin" (wifey-related)
-"Mystic Voyage"
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
Everybody Loves The Sunshine
Brawling Broads
We Live In Brooklyn Baby
The Third Eye
Running Away
But ask me tomorrow and you'd probably get a different answer.
Seriously overlooked dancefloor scorcher.
This without a doubt is "our" song..
It would be in my top ten, but only just. That doesn't take anything away from the obvious greatness of the track, but I prefer his pre disco, mid 70s stuff more. I ask the same question for half of the Tear to a Smile LP which seems to be waaaay overlooked IMO.
i just keep on trying
third eye
the boogie back
des nude soul
i could go on and on.
Papa Was A Rolling Stone
Everybody Loves The Sunshine
Love Will Bring Us Back Together
Dont Stop The Feeling
Can't You See Me
Searching
Life is just a Moment pt2
Running Away
Love From the Sun
Get On Up, Get On Down
Our Time Is Coming
Programmed for Love
Poo Poo La La
Sugar
Boogie Back
Destination Motherland
Hey Uh-What You Say Come On
etc etc etc. Too many...
Coffy is the colour
Mystic voyage
Brother Louie
Love from the sun
Last time I played that out another DJ called me a slut :necessary:
Maybe it's too well-known, played out or obvious, but I still love it.
3rd Eye
In The Dark
Searching
The Golden Rod
Dude has a pretty solid catalogue. Still playing and sounding good.
Me too. I also love Can't You See Me but always get told it's too cheesey. Poltroons.
The Black Five
Ain't No Sunshine
Ain't Got Time
Life Is Just A Moment pt.1
the first two atlantic records are kinda cheesy. marred by herbie mann's involvement. i'm glad that he gave roy his big break but i am even gladder roy escaped herbie's hirsute, sweaty paws.
YES!!! Huge That has always been my joint!!!
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
can a classic be legitimately called "played out"? i understand if the track becomes kinda popular and then gets played out during that cycle but i feel like u can get away with playing snippets of classics forever.
Although I have always loved the song, I could definitely go without ever hearing any part of Pete and CL's TROY played out ever again.
