The hypocrisy of a dude born on third base lecturing the son of a single mom, who went ivy and improbably became our first black president about the American dream, makes my explode.
Show us the tax returns Mitt. Teach us how America really works.
"All the property that is necessary to a Man, for the Conservation of the Individual and the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right, which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages. He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it."

People are already paying plenty of taxes. And our government has been mismanaging that tax revenue. The idea that people need to be paying anymore taxes than is already being paid is ridiculous. Our government needs to do more with what they already have instead of always talking about tax increases, especially in a recession. Fuck them.
My friend, by the way, lived in Russia until he was 18, and if you want to get schooled, you will say that Obama is a Socialist in his presence. That is always funny to watch, and usually begins with a thick Russian accent saying, "You are so fucking stupid."
Large public pension plans are pouring more money into private-equity funds, deepening ties between government workers and an industry currently under the harsh glare of U.S. presidential politics.
Big public-employee pensions had about $220 billion invested in private equity in September, or 11% of their assets, according to Wilshire Trust Universe Comparison Service, which tracks the holdings of pensions, foundations and endowments.
So when Obama/Warren point that no business is built without some government assistance (roads, Internet, etc.), there???s a gotcha out there when Romney/Sununu talk about the American style of business building. Page 83 of this pdf of the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Trust Fund 2009 Annual Report lists several dozen PE firms that manage the pension???s money, including Bain [Capital].
Doesn't every country, good, bad or indifferent, have roads and bridges??
No/not enough. It is one of the biggest problems in developing countries.

This is preemptive reverse psychology for when Obama finally gets called to the carpet for his glaring misdeeds, he can be all like...I didn't do this alone.
The world is so complex that trying to actually explain this shit is impossible. That's why we're were we are today... we're in this big fucking mess because at some point, it got way too easy to just simply LIE about how the world works, without any worry that people will notice you're lying. Hence the large part of the populace that thinks the government is holding back businesses from investing in the economy. Too many facts from too many perspectives from too many voices makes even marginally smart people like US confused. Combine that with an educational system that has been eroding for years - and you have a population that has no fucking clue what is best for itself.
Then it basically comes down to who has more $$$ to campaign/advertise/spin up their own version of the truth.

Taxes are at the lowest rate they've been in about 50 years. Under Clinton we paid more and were on our way to paying down the debt; had hundreds of billions in surplus. Then the GOP cut taxes (that means we paid less), and we got fucked. This just happened 12 years ago and you've already forgotten. The GOP counts on people like you.
We can't do more with what we already have. We what we have is not enough. Do we need to cut spending? Yes. Will that get the house in order on it's own? No, says every credible economist.
So, you're about 100% incorrect that we are paying plenty of taxes and that we don't need to pay more. We're also not in a recession anymore. And haven't been for at least 2 years.

Glaring misdeeds?
War crimes
Summery execution
Drone wars
Military spying of US Citizens on US soil
The torture of Bradly Manning
Failing to use science to set EPA policy
Corpuratization of our schools
Failing to prosecute financial crimes (banks)
Failing to protect homeowners from bank abuses
Forced resignation of Shirley Sherrod

Certainly you could think of a few more to add.
1) What war crimes?
2) summary execution of who? Al-Awlaki? Uh, ok.
3)Drone wars? Don't see a problem with it, What's your beef?
4)Military spying on US Soil? Link?
5)Torture of Bradley Manning? We'll have to disagree that solitary confinement is torture.
6)Failing to use science at the EPA? You can't be serious.
7)Corporatizaton of schools? Which schools are you talking about? And how have they been corporatized?
8)Failing to prosecute financial crime? I agree with this.
9)Failing to protect homeowners from bank abuses? That happened under the previous administration, and Obama championed the Consumer Protecton Agency, so this is a false claim.
I???m increasingly convinced that America???s big problem here is political. The right is primarily focused on promoting the interests of developers, while the left is primarily focused on promoting the interests of public-sector unions. It???s crony capitalism versus ???socialism in one contract,??? and the one thing all sides can agree on is continually escalating costs.

You do not have to agree with me.
Still I find it sad that you are so interested in politics but don't know what I am talking about.

3) My beefs are both moral and strategic. I don't expect you to share my moral concerns but the strategic blow back should be obvious to everyone.
4) There was a large thread here on this topic. The military is using drones to spy on US citizens for local police agencies.
5) Yes, we will.
6) Surprising that you can live in Spokane and be unaware of the fighting over the Columbia and Snake Rivers. http://www.cbbulletin.com/402324.aspx This is just our local story. 3)What strategic blowback?
4)Actually, they aren't. Every thing I've seen indicates that drones might be being used, but it's not for certain. Besides, it's the police using the drones, not the military. They're cheaper than helicopters, so unless one has a problem with police using helicopters, I don't see the issue.
6) fair enough
7)I don't really see how lettiing mayors control schools in cities, which may or may not induce influence from corporations, means that schools have been "corporatized". Also, that article was from 4/09. Anything more recent to indicate the Duncan's plan has been implemented and the worst fears have been realized?
9) God forbid that Obama wants to keep people in the homes they own, rather than have them be homeless with destroyed credit. The administration is trying to get these people out from being under water. That's not helping the banks, that's helping the people. While it may be a failure to you, a failure is not a misdeed.
1. Romney went to Yale for post grad. I don't know where he went for undergrad.
2. He did volunteer work abroad.
3. He helped start up Sports Authority and Staples.
4. He worked on the winter Olympics when they were in a financial bind and did a good job.
5. He's Morman (there is nothing wrong with that) married and has a family.
These are reasons I think he is fit for the White House.
Volunteer work abroad. You mean when he dodged the draft by going to tell French people about how Jesus lived in Missouri for a spell? After he had participated in PRO-Vietnam War demonstrations. Yeah, he has a rock solid character.

Hah, you don't need to be Russian to laugh every time an American ignorantly uses the term. America's "bleeding-heart" liberal Left is still to the Right of many European political parties in thought and deed.

Even assuming these things are all completely accurate (which they're not), how are any of them qualifications for the presidency in and of themselves?

People against will call him a Socialist.

Maybe if you just posted a few more times on it, and made sure to hit very political thread, I'd finally understand.
Cool, will do.

I think it's safe to say that this PatrickCrazy/Brian caracter is cute for assuming so many things too :cokehead:

We owe the vast majority of our debt to ourselves, not China. China is a bogeyman used by Romney and the GOP to scare people. Don't fall for it.
