2). This made me realized that I really haven't heard that many albums/remember 'em,, even in my "hip-hop heyday" of 92-98 (Yeah I got something random like the Big-L lp in my collection, but aside from "Put it On" I really don't remember shit). I guess I'm definetly more of a 12'' singles dude . I think I hear about 3-5 albums a year.
3). I think you dudes put "BE" at the bottom just to rile me up.
4). It's strange to compare "Slaughtahouse" to "Sittin' On Chrome". Two huge departures in style for Ace, but I think I gave Sittin' on Chrome way more love. I actually still bump those 12's from that album now.
hmm... phill i respect your desire to learn about this shit, but it's difficult because a lot of the crews you mention aren't particularly album oriented in the same way a de la soul is. and as for rap-a-lot, most of the great albums were one offs (or one of two offs) here are a few more obviously consistent album artists:

Off that topic...I listened to a few of my Gang Starr albums today and I have to say Guru sucks. I hate the intro on Hard To Earn or Daily Operation whatever it was on where he is bitching about the fans. IMO if Gang Starr was just Guru it would be terrible. Best thing on Daily Operation is Jeru on I'm the Man. Everything else LYRICALLY on there sucked to me.
