7 copies of Soul Searchers Salt of the Earth LP

I've had several hundred copies of a Boston random rap comp from 1986 called Boston Goes Def. Hundreds each of some 12"s too, as I believe you know. You should really let me holler at one of those Soul Searchers joints though!

I got you. PM me your address.

    -Parliament/Funkadelic
    -James Brown
    -Eddie Harris
    -Cannonball Adderley
    -Ramsey Lewis
    -Roy Ayers Ubiquity
    -Earth, Wind, & Fire
    -Stevie Wonder
    -Herbie Hancock
    -The Mighty Clouds of Joy
    -The Gospel Keynotes

    Peace,

I'm still in a folk-rock phase with The Mamas and The Poppas, Peter, Paul and Mary, James Taylor, and of course. Simon and Garfunkel. But I have a lot of vocal groups like Jackie and Roy in my collection.

  • James Brown and Motorhead

  • I haven't counted in a long time, but I'm quite sure James Brown is in the lead.

Others with ten or more records:
    Gil Scott-Heron
    Swamp Dogg
    Howlin' Wolf
    Isley Brothers
    Thin Lizzy
    Johnny Cash
    Rolling Stones
    Grass Roots
    Al Green

Those are all good artists, some of whom I had on constant rotation when I was an undergrad. I burned out on folk, but maybe I just need to give those old records another spin.

It might be a while before I revisit The Mamas and The Poppas again, all for reasons non-music related. But now that I think of it, I have a heavy West Coast jazz and classical collection. Vince Guaraldi is major in my collection, mainly because he was the first jazz musician I could remember listening to as a kid. Plus the Charlie Brown specials never hurt.

A "ten or more" listing might be interesting. I've had ten or more by 6 of the 10 on that list at various times.

    Right now?

    Albert Ayler

When you acquire ten albums by the same artist, you know you're really around the bend then.

Others who fall in that category for me include
    Buck Owens
    Kinks
    Paul Revere & the Raiders
    Taj Mahal
    Bob Dylan
    Funkadelic
    Syl Johnson
    Chambers Brothers
    Bo Diddley
    Jerry Lee Lewis
    Doug Sahm/Sir Douglas Quintet
    Louis Prima
    Consolers
    Temptations
    Charlie Rich
    Staple Singers
    Michael Bloomfield
    John Lee Hooker
    George Jones
    NRBQ
    Sam the Sham

  • I don't think I have "ten or more" of any artist, but the artists whose number comes close would be:

    Sun Ra
    Pink Floyd
    Esquivel!
    Ennio Morricone
    Henry Mancini
    Rolling Stones
    Beatles
    The Free Design
    Can
    Mothers of Invention
