By the way, if I was going to subscribe to one download file hosting service, which one would be best?
Is rapidshare still really worth it?
Definitely.
I agree! I starting paying for it 3 months ago, and the amount of time it has saved me is well worth the price I eventually got bored of having to wait for the 50 seconds (lazy). Plus since Rapidshare is used by the majority of people it's not only good for music, if you catch my drift
so how do you do it? through a reseller? why does it have to be so complicated?
http://rapidshare.com/premium.html
Once you use the login and pass they give you it sets a cookie and you can just do direct downloads and never need to goto the site again until your pass expires.
Use of a download manager makes things a snap...

However, I still don't understand how the people who run these blogs can morally post albums that can be bought retail.
It's straight up disrespectful to the artist.

I also rate Solesides
I know blogs like Loronix only post albums that are out of print and not commercially available. If I download an album and really like it, I usually will hunt it down on vinyl.
You mean Sou[/b]l Sides? If so, thanks!
I agree with you in principle - it's why I don't post albums and never plan to but what you're talking about is both 1) a bit of a grey area and 2) pretty much besides the point to most of these guys anyway.
After all, with 1) - the vast majority of the time, it's labels getting ripped off, not artists. And 2) I get the sense that a lot of these blogs exist to attract traffic and some abstract notion of "props" and the morality of the situation > whatever satisfaction these sites enjoy from their 15 seconds of fame.
