Weaver and Beasley - St. Louis Blues
This is a slide guitar cover of St. Louis Blues. For a while I was downloading or buying as many copies of St. Louis blues as I could find but I've kinda burned out because there are just so damn many. W.C. Handy was walking around somewhere (St. Louis maybe?) when he heard a lady say "That man got a heart like a rock cast in the sea" and he put it to a blues tune. The tango was popular at the time so there is a minor tango section to the song that makes it stand out from all the other blues songs. Anyways, that was pretty nice.
Maggie Jones - If I lose let me lose
This sounds like another blues tune from the 20s. Its got a cornet. I like the old slow moving blues tunes from the 20s. Maggie Jones has this other tune called "Good Time Flat Blues" that I just LOVE for some reason.
Frankie Trumbauer and his Orchestra - Lila
"Who's got a sugary sweet personality? Liiiilaaaaaa". "Up to the minute theres nobody in it with liiiilaaaaa".
New Orleans Owls - Stomp Off Let's Go
I think the New Orleans Owls were white early jazz band, but I would have to look that up. I hear the happy strum of the banjo keepting the band in time. This is the kind of happy upbeat music that made me want to play the banjo.
King Oliver - Sweet Like This
More banjo! I think "King" Oliver got his title from out-blowing Buddy Bolden in the early days of jazz. Or something like that anyways. This is another good example of music that made me want to learn banjo. Pretty much all King Oliver music is good music, so you listen to it or else punch yourself in the face. Damn, that was a good song.
Quasimoto - Bad Character
Illa J - Swagger
MF Doom - I Hear Voices
Ol' Dirty Bastard - Baby C'Mon
The Cure - Real Snow White
Sammy Price and Doc Cheatham Play Gershwin - Music In My Heart
Bix Beiderbeck - Goose Pimples (I like bix but this is kind of boring.)
damn, I'm really glad I found this randomize thing! Its fun!
Harry Reeser - Rah Rah Rah
I'm really torn about Harry Reeser. He's considered to be one of the best tenor banjo players to have ever lived. But his singing is just so awful and annoying that i can't stand to listen to it. I can't imagine anybody liked this in the 20s and 30s, but obviously plenty of people must have. If he had somebody else singing I would like his music so much better. He was in a band called the Qliqot Club Eskimos (or something like that) and it was like 20 dudes dressed as Eskimos and playing banjos.
Eddie Vedder - Setting Forth
This is OK, I guess.
Limp Bizkit "Break Stuff"
Brief Encounter "Just A Little Notion"
DJ Nephets "Get High"
Sambalanco Trio "Sambinha"
2. Yang Li Yang (Mat The Alien Remix) - Hai Karate Soul

3) Managua - Candeias
4) Audacity Pt 1 & 2 - Ugly Duckling

4. Bic Runga - It's Over

Thats a great tune.
