Yeah in general I'm a big fan - just found Walkin Bank Roll to be pretty uninspiring compared to his previous few releases. That coupled with 3-6's last album means I was more hesitant to pick it up than I would be normally. Will check it out.

  • Blondie, that new Pretty Things thing and James Brown "In The Jungle Groove"(about once a year this gets well over a week straight rotation in the ride...when James calls Clyde back in in the middle of "Give it up", it is one of those goose pimple experiences akin to the first notes of MC5 "Ramblin Rose" to me...powerful

Kick out the Jams has one of those moments every few minutes, i.e. the part in 'Borderline' where the band falls back and Tyners just kind of howling, and you can almost hear his voice bouncing off the back of the hall. Makes my hair stand on end...

Two Italian jazzers calling themselves The Berardi Jazz Connection. Album called "Do It". Boppish with a latin twist. Very nice.

    that 88-keys mixtape

This gets better with repeated listens. Hearing how he flips those samples with the lead-in tracks is really fresh.

I've been listening to the new Drake mixtape most of the week. That's a smooth operation right there. Props to noz for the Larry Graham-uncle tip drop.

I found the "GHETTY GREEN"sampler at teh peddlers mall, kinda dig it, which I didn't expect.

I don't think thats the x-files, but it don't matter, this slams.

I shouldn't have hesitated on this that Project Pat album is possibly his best yet.
