Who's done the best version of "To Know You Is To Love You"?
I heard a great version on a mix by Mr Scruff - sounded like it could've been an edit as it went on for quite a while, long instrumental part after the vocals with a bit of swirling and dubby echos and stuff - not the Bloodfire edit that I have either.

Adapted is an extremely underrated songwriter, right up there with Traditional.
the other 1/2 is like comeon dudes why you f*ckin with that it was perfect already
oh shit!
I'll also throw out Eddie Hazel's California Dreaming and Millie Jackson's If Loving You Is Wrong..
Donny Hathaway - I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know

I think the version Womack cut with the Valentinos on Clean slays both New Birth's and his own.
to me, the Valentinos sounded like they merely dubbed their voices over the backing track to Bobby's original...not a lot of difference, IIRC
Anything Donny Hath covered.

Carpenters>Klaatu
Carpenters
Lefties soul connection > DJ Shadow
Ooooh, dunno about that one.
In a live setting I'd go with the band everytime, but as a recording not so sure.
Big Mama Thornton's "Wade in the Water" slaps Marlena Shaw's, takes its wallet, and pushes it down onto the filthy sidewalk
Nina Simone "To Love somebody" > Bee Gees
Lee Moses "Ill Be There" kicks the Four Top's in the nuts and pours a stale beer over its head, then laughs and points at it
Al Green - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart > Bee Gee's version
ALSO, I know I;m gonna get shitted on for this but
D'angelo "Crusin'" > Smokey Robinson "Cruisin'"
Light My Fire - Feliciano > Franklin > Doors
Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing - Sergio Mendes > Stevie
Old Town - Corrs > Lynott
Moondance - Grady Tate > Van studio version (but SF live version > Grady Tate)
Do You Wanna Dance - Ramones live > all other versions
I never heard that version, but her version of "The First Cut Is The Deepest" is better than the original Cat Stevens version, in my opinion.
