It is an b, 21[u]individual/u1's right that is being taken away by this. b, 21b, 21You might not be the individual today but if you supportb, 21this or sit back and say/do nothing, it only makes itb, 21easier for you to be the one infringed upon tomorrow.b, 21b, 21Equal rights under law for everyone.b, 21Separation of church and state.b, 21Very important.

b, 21b, 21I don't think an exit poll could accurately determine which, if any, specific voting block "passed" Prop 8.b, 21b, 21The fact that black voters voted "YES" in a higher percentage than white or latino voters does seem to be a correct conclusion.b, 21b, 21What this means and why it happened is up for debate.

Obviously you and others are assuming i voted yes ...i said it's best if "everyone" just move on ...That doesn't mean i'm telling Gays to "get over it" or those that voted yes to duck and run.....I'm in California so i think my comments on a state proposition hold a little more weight than your stupid ass north bubblefuck retort......Me and other Californians are knee deep in prop 8 propoganda from both sides....My concerns have very little to do with the outcome of the vote but whether it should have been put on the ballot in the first place....."Move on" doesn't necessarily mean leave it alone ...it also suggests pursuing another resolution ....so F*ck off b, 21b, 21h, 21b, 21b, 21Being another Californian I can safely say that this decision is fucked. I voted NO and am proud to say that, unlike some people who are afraid to reveal their vote. Fortunately people are "moving on" in the sense that they are trying to challenge the vote, however the state law isn't one for making things easy to repeal so this will not come to a conclusion anytime soon. Meanwhile, as biased as it may sound, the yes on 8 team IS spouting propaganda. Whether or not the No on 8 team is doesn't really matter to me because it is a simple issue of discrimination. One person thinking another person is less deserving than them. If someone is spouting propaganda to challenge that, I will believe it. The fact that this made it on to the ballot is insane to begin with. I thought writing discrimination into the law was a thing of the past. Again, a large finger is to be pointed at the Mormon Church for their insane amount of money they donated to the Yes on 8 campaign. Pathetic. Why people feel so strongly about their belief of "traditional marriage" (i.e. bigotry) is beyond me; especially because we know how successful traditional marriage is. img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" 21

  • however you voted on this Prop, it's just not accurate to equally apportion some sort of "propaganda" blame on the two sides. b, 21b, 21the pro-Prop 8 crowd (from what I saw) made craven appeals to California parents, suggesting that the anti-Prop crowd intended to teach their children how to be gay. b, 21b, 21the anti-Prop 8 crowd (I'm thinking of the Di Fienstein ad and the school superintendent guy ad) simply refuted this (accurately).b, 21b, 21one set of ads was propaganda, the other set of ads was information intended to challenge said propaganda.

b, 21b, 21a great Jeremy Piven performance, but not sure how this relates to the issue at hand.b, 21b, 21I actually sorta think it would be helpful to hear why a dude I don't think is a total douche voted for Prop 8 (if indeed you did, Ed), as everyone that I know that voted for it had totally inane reasons for doing so.b, 21b, 21then again, it's your business if you don't want to discuss.
