fuuuuusk, i forget the name of the firm, but it was this old run down car shop in atlanta that was beautifully turned into a studio/office/living space on the inside. that was one of the nicest things i had seen in a minute.

Thanks for reminding me...Koolhaas' building (partially) defies gravity so I guess that makes it an easy target...I'd like to read the article just to see what the writer's take on the CCTV design is...b,121b,121The Chemosphere looks cool..where is it located?

YESSSSSSS for the Chemosphere...I have gotten into many near-accidents looking up at it while driving on the freeway- it's right off the end of the 170 meets 101 south heading towards Cahuenga Blvd...if you look up to your right you'll see it pokin' out of the hill. most of this stuff looks like spaceships. i mean, its neat, but i like restaurant architecture or crappy non professional folk stuffs cuz it feels more homey and im not a fan of outerspace really. sorry, i cant name names cuz i really dont follow it like that. but i bet the dude spaceghost can. anyways, i like brollyhut in inglewood, the ice cube store on central, donut hole in wesco, the la river (although also kinda "spacey")paved part thru downtown, and daves in long beach. but only cuz it reminds me of winky dinky dog. is this where they filmed it?

the guts are nice, but the outside is nothing to be amazed with. didnt they completely fabricated the outside in blade runner? also, there is now a sprint store and i think like one of them 99cent chinese food joints on the ground level facade. i like googies and some of them hotels along route 66 way out there in like azusa or somewheres. those are cool too. i think la is more suited to horizontal architecture rather than vertical, like what theyre trying to do to downtown. i like horizontal frank lloyd wright stuffs, i cant lie. even them spaceship ones. oh and theres a giant pit in irwindale. like a quarry or something. i know its not architecture with like cranes and girders and stuff, but it looks awesome and i enjoy looking at it if im ever in the area.
